Great stuff here. Wanted to contribute a few prop blur shots, but alas, I find myself technologically challenged.
Hosting pics in two different spots, Webshots and Flickr. Tried pasting the url link of each as defined by their sites and no luck. Used the upload pics option on the "reply to" thread but images are not showing. It lists the URL but when message saved and viewed, no pics.
Can someone help the boy?
What works for me is, at least for Flickr:Quote:

Perriwen, you seem to be onto something here.....What I wanted to add to the prop blur discussion was that asb had done a whole thread on this issue a while back. It was fun going out taking shots for this particular effect. I learned that helicopters can be particularly difficult in that their prop speed is much slower, requiring a slower shutter speed to get the same effect. It was a lot of fun and that is what I like about these forums. Learning from one another and the inspiration that comes from one anothers work....Here are a few more

Definitely...the same is true of double-blade props and even doubly so with double-blade props on slower engines (think Stearman & WACO's). Even in flight powering through a climb I had to stop down to 1/20th to get a full disk, which just wasn't worth the trade off in sharpness to me.Quote:

Yes, I cheated - the aircraft were stationary. The T-6 was shot at 1/30 second, the B-25 was 1/25 second.

You shooting on a tripod?
I'm a shaky one. If I try to shoot W/a shutter speed that slow, I never get a clean shot.
No, hand held. Although I was leaning my shoulder against an L-39 when I shot the B-25.
I have to admit mine was a tripod, I'll share a couple from last weekend that were hand held!
