Very cool, Fred - that belongs to the Earnhardt NASCAR team.
wonder what they were doing in town?!
Awesome! Sharp looking Learjet!
Very nice catch, Fred ! Hmmm I too wonder what they were doing here
Busy day at FRG...de-mil started on the Prowler, engines are out and other "stuff" being removed as I type. Also two television shoots going on, one at the terminal (been here since last Thursday) and a separate shoot using the other side near the museum, as well as the north half of Rwy 1/19. Pix to follow.
Any idea what the television shoots are for?
Unforgettable and Damages
De-mil work on the Prowler. It's mostly complete, they just need to remove the radar, and load everything onto a truck, which should happen Wednesday.

Also at Republic today, the television show Unforgettable was filming scenes for an upcoming episode. I haven't seen it, but it's a cop show starring Poppy Montgomery. They filmed some inside SheltAir, and spent a good part of the day shooting on one of the runways. The set up for the scene has a suspect trying to escape in a small aircraft, and the cops drive alongside the plane on the runway and shoot out the nose wheel tire, forcing it to stop (I know, I know...) They went up and down the runway a bunch, with the plane (a Cessna Caravan) and the detectives' car (a Dodge Charger) followed by a camera truck.

Awesome! Will definitely have to keep an eye out for that episode. Always cool to see places you're familiar with in TV shows and movies, especially when its an airport
Subcontractors, hired by the Navy.
ETA: FlightAware is showing the Earnhardt Lear returning to FRG today, scheduled in around 5:15pm
Is Fred gonna make another depressing video like he did for the Felix 101 demill?
That one was tough to watch, man.
