Thanks again, hate being a nuisance... Is there a way to take away the dead space without losing the 1200 by 800 image size??
I think it's a lovely shot but yes, try a closer crop. I also find it slightly oversharpened. And knowing Anet, possible magenta cast too.
Don't take me for granted though... takes me 3 tries to get to Anet, and only because I appeal the 3rd rejection haha.
I do... If you are talking about the raw file, i just dont feel like i can edit it like that again... Still a noob
Is it a good idea to crop and size last after you save an edited full size and then u can crop and size as you like?
I personally crop and correct the horizon leveling first, then alleviate dust spots, then correct exposure, then sharpen and run noise reduction, then I save as a tiff. After that ill resize, save as a jpeg and upload
Im planning on uploading this one to Airliners, does anyone have any input before I do?

Not bad. I would rotate image CCW a few degrees. Level her pitch attitude. Something doesn't feel right about the nose dropped slightly.
Got a feeling that Anet will find it overexposed... Just my own experience. A tad more contrast needed as well.
I made some adjustments, how does this look?
Don't know if it's Photobucket doing some compression, but there's a lot of JPG artifacting. Especially noticeable near the windows.
If I were to add more space behind the tail I would have to do some cloning (do they allow cloning?) Here is the final image http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/b...airlines33.jpg
Cloning is a big no-no. You can get banned. I would say it's close, but the sky may be too grainy or have some quality issues. Also, I've been rejected for not having enough whitespace around the aircraft (on a photo with more space than this one), and the horizontal stabilizer is almost touching the edge here.
Anyone think this would make it to either site?

Think it's a bit too dark Sergio.
i fixed the light a little

Serge, it's way over saturated, especially in the red channel. Email me an original if you want and I'll have a crack at it.
u gotta send me it again
To the inbox Sergio
Question for the group- Does anybody out there process their photos on a Mac laptop?
I recently retired my Mac tower workstation and trashed the monitor because it was too far gone.
That said, I now have a MacBook Pro (regular display, not retina) and have been experience some problems
adjusting images for submission to ANEt and JP. Is my only option to buy a large external display?
Thanks
Try calibrating it first.
Yes I have calibrated, but I'm concerned that the reason my images look darker after uploading them to the web
may be that I'm using a laptop screen to adjust them. Never had this problem when I used a large desktop display.
What color mode are you shooting and/or editing in?
Hmm...And the color appears normal in PS?
I'm looking to upload this one to Airliners. [IMG]http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...pse1a3ddcf.jpg
Any advice?
looks like a lot of heat haze!!
Upload to JP. They love heat haze.
Way too hazy. I wouldn't even bother.
Ok thanks guys.
I would have to agree in this case, but heat haze is not always the end of the world. For instance, if the shot is of a rare bird, or unique situation the screeners tend to be more lenient. Case and point- I was at the recent JFK Runway Run, which was the ultimate in field access. Heat haze was rampant that morning. All the spotters were shooting under the same conditions. I decided not to bother submitting to JP or ANEt because of the slight distortion in my shots. Low and behold, I am seeing photos being accepted now that were shot right by my side that day. Never give up trying!
take this for example! never thought they would accept this one! but Manny's editing work is AMAZING!!
I actually have a streak going-5 straight without a rejection!!!
Nice. Try learning and editing without any help. I find it way more gratifying, imo.
Rom, I understand where your coming from and I learned how to edit without any help. It was that one shot i had trouble with. I have a streak going of five by myself! Thanks...
Thoughts? I underexposed the original, and since I think I got it to an acceptable point?

Very nice! I'm just concerned about the empty space in the bottom half of the shot... Have your tried different crops, like zooming on the a/c on the right and cropping the other in an interesting fashion, all the while retaining the rainbow?
