What was that Cathay A340 doing there? Do they fly pax to ANC or was it a fuel stop?

Congratulations on those photos. Traffic is absolutely fantastic and your photos are really good.
If you don't mind, I would like to make a small question (well...in fact two  )
Is there any chance to tell me (us) some basic directions to the spotting places and how many mm are needed to make photos there? Do you think that a 100-400 is enough ?
Second question. Did you shot in Lake Hood? Do you have photos of those little Cessnas and Beavers with floaters? (I love that stuff)
Thanks

Mr. C
Good to know that we have somebody from Lisbon on this board. In exchange for ANC locations I will request something simmilar for LIS airport. Hopefully I will get there this fall or winter.
In ANC you will need wide angle lens to probably 300mm - It depends on the location.
For runway 14 you will need something smaller than 70mm - thats what I had and couldn't do side on shots of 747s (my lens 70-300mm was more than enough for all locations).
I've received a lot of requests for spotting locations at ANC, so I've created quick map with descryptions.
I've posted downloadable link on my front page http://www.flyiad.net/ - I will keep it there for 30 days, so get it now :)
