The 80th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) will take place in New York City kicking off September 9, 2025. The first day of the high-level General Debate is scheduled for September 23, 2025 and runs to September 29, 2025.

The weekend before the first day of high-level General Debate is typically when most of the UNGA visitors start arriving, but they can arrive well before the first day of the high-level debate.

This year will be a challenge as there is a lot of construction in and around the airport with new terminals going up, and access roads being built. You’ll be better off spotting from the official spotting locations like Bayswater, North Woodmere, the mounds, etc.

Looking forward to another great year! Thanks for firing up the thread Mark. Hope everyone’s been having a great summer, despite the wet and cold couple of days we’re having in the New York area. See you all in a couple weeks!

If anyone is interested, here are some changes in terms of head of state aircraft since last year’s session:

Angola took delivery of a Global 7500 (T7-ANG), which seems to mostly be flying their head of state on shorter intra-African flights, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it anyway (they usually bring a secondary aircraft).

Gabon replaced their ancient Gulfstream 4 (TR-KSP) with a newer G550 (TR-KPG), which looks gorgeous. The G4 did come last year along with their G650 (TR-KGM), so maybe the 550 will make an appearance this time.

Italy is in the process of replacing their Falcon 900s with four G650ERs (MM62343, MM62344, MM62345, MM62346). They usually bring a Falcon 900 as a backup, so we could expect to see one of those 650s.

Jordan sold their G700 (VP-BXS) back to Gulfstream and replaced it with a Global 7500 (VP-BHM).

Kyrgyzstan recently got a G450 (TC-KRG). I doubt they’ll bring it unless this is replacing their 320.

Libya has a government-dedicated A319 now (5A-ONI), which seems to be from Afriqiyah. This one’s mostly been doing short-haul flying recently, so not sure if we’ll see this one either.

Nigeria has repainted their A330 (5N-FGA) into the standard Nigerian Air Force color scheme, and their 737 (5N-FGT) is now for sale. Hopefully the 330 will come this year after Nigeria’s president cancelled his visit last second in 2024.

Portugal’s Falcon 900 (27404) is finally in service after over two years of not flying since delivery.

Serbia recently took delivery of a Falcon 6X (YU-RSB). Not sure if this is going to replace their Legacy (YU-SRB). Serbia very rarely comes on a government aircraft (if ever), so I don’t know if we’ll see this one here.

Switzerland got a Global 7500 (T-787) at the end of last year. These guys come pretty much every year, so I anticipate this one will come next month.

Tanzania replaced their G550 with a G700 (5H-ONE), which looks gorgeous. These guys have been hit or miss at UNGA, so not sure if they’ll come.

**All times reported in local time, four hours behind Zulu**

Thursday, 9/4
2315L: I guess the fun has already begun. Morocco's 747-400, CN-RGA, popped into JFK around 2030L on Tuesday night and departed in the middle of the night last night, operating as MRS0314 on both legs. The Moroccans usually swing by in the first two weeks of September, so this doesn't come as much of a surprise. We're just over two weeks away from the big arrival weekend, which will be here before we know it.

Sunday, 9/7
1120L: Some random factoids to start your Sunday. One of the Italian G650ERs (MM62345) came into JFK last night around 3 am, callsign IAM3189. I have no clue what they're doing here. Jordan's G650ER (VQ-BNZ) stopped in Westhampton last night, presumably for fuel, on its way home from Mexico. Trump is visiting New York today to attend the US Open, and it looks like he'll be flying into LaGuardia. The TFR goes into effect at 1245L and ends at 1900L. He's coming back again Wednesday evening to attend a Yankees game and to visit the 9/11 memorial on Thursday. That TFR, also for LGA, starts at 1915L on Wednesday and ends at 1330L on Thursday.

1230L: This weekend has been of full of random govjet action. One of Colombia's Learjet 60s, FAC1216, departed Teterboro just over half an hour ago for Opa Locka. This one came in on Monday around 3 pm and was here for the entire week.

1720L: Wow, another one coming. A UAE (Dubai) 737-800 BBJ, A6-HEH, just followed the most convoluted arrival route into the New York area I've ever seen and is currently over Long Island as DUB12. It looks like either Islip, JFK, or LGA for these guys. The UNGA didn't magically get pushed up two weeks, did it?

1825L: Dubai went to JFK. Check out the tracker (https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/DUB12), that was an absolutely bonkers route they took. Air Force One just left LaGuardia headed back to Andrews.

Monday, 9/8
0825L: Ok seriously, what's happening in NYC that I don't know about? One of Belgium's Falcon 7Xs, OO-FAE, is just south of Nova Scotia headed to Teterboro as BAF84, ETA 1020L. A Germany A321, 15+04, is headed into JFK at some point this afternoon as GAF701. They're on their way from Cologne to Keflavik, where they'll fuel stop and then continue on to JFK. The president of this year's UNGA is a German politician, so I have a good feeling she's on this plane. Italy's 650 left JFK around 2030L last night.

1520L: The Germans are about an hour out, just over Montreal.

Tuesday, 9/9
1345L: The Belgians departed Teterboro this morning around 1015L to the West coast. Dubai and Germany are still at Kennedy.

Wednesday, 9/10
1110L: The German 321 departed JFK about 45 mins ago for Gander, then Reykjavik, then Cologne, callsign GAF701. It looks like JD Vance is coming to New York this evening instead of Trump. Tonight's LGA TFR now goes live at 2200L instead of the originally planned 1915L, and tomorrow's TFR is active from 1145L to 1330L. Trump is still coming for tomorrow's Yankees game, though, and based on the new TFRs that just got posted, he might be staying in the area from tomorrow until Sunday now.

2305L: It was only a matter of time before they started showing up. A Qatar Amiri A330-200, A7-HJJ, is just north of Hamburg, Germany bound for JFK as QAF6. They've probably got about 7.5 hours to go, which would put them on the ground around 0630L tomorrow morning. They're due out at 0820L for Dulles. I don't think JD Vance ended up coming this evening, and all the TFRs keep shifting, so I honestly don't know when anyone is coming anymore.

Thursday, 9/11 (Never Forget)
1335L: The Qataris landed at JFK just after 0630L this morning and departed at 0830L as planned. Today’s LaGuardia TFR now starts at 1645L, which means POTUS should be landing sometime in the 1700 or 1800 hour.

2130L: Trump landed at LGA just shy of 1800L.

Friday, 9/12
0640L: A7-HJJ, the Qatari 330 that came yesterday, is on its way from Dulles back up to JFK now, should be landing in the next 20-30 mins. Scheduled departure at 0900L going right back to Dulles.

1130L: Qatar landed at 0710L and left at 0945L. This bird's coming back again in a couple hours, with a scheduled arrival of 1320L. No departure filed just yet.

1435L: Qatar was running about an hour late, just landed at JFK a couple minutes ago. Still no departure filed.

1710L: STD for Qatar is 2100L, they’re headed home to Doha.

Sunday, 9/14
0955L: Qatar departed Friday night around 2200L if I remember correctly. The Dubai 737 that’s been at JFK for the week is scheduled to reposition to Islip at 1000L (yes, in like five minutes, sorry for the super late notice).

Monday, 9/15
2225L: Dubai repositioned yesterday just after 1000L. The past couple days have been extremely quiet, likely in part due to the emergency summit held in Doha today in response to Israel's recent attacks on Qatar. I expect the Qataris and Brazilians to start popping in over the next couple days.

Tuesday, 9/16
1900L: I see one flight scheduled for Friday, and it's Kuwait's 340-500 flying KWI-JFK-SWF as KU2 (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/KU2). STA into JFK is 1620L, with a departure of 1750L.

2355L: Another one on the board, a Brazilian E190. BRS3 tomorrow from Boa Vista to JFK, arriving at 1555L and departing at 1715L for Islip, the usual reposition point for them.

Wednesday, 9/17
0930L: Here comes Brazil. FAB2590, one of their VC-2s (E190s), is descending into Boa Vista from Brasilia as BRS03. They’re supposed to leave Boa Vista in half an hour for JFK, and they’re still like 15 mins from landing there, so I anticipate they’ll be arriving into JFK slightly behind schedule. Given the recent retirement of Jetblue’s E190s, this might be the only chance to catch a 190 at JFK now.

1145L: Brazil departed Boa Vista just under an hour late, so ETA into JFK is around 1645L now.

1750L: Brazil landed around 1715L and is now scheduled to depart at 1820L for Islip. VP-CKH, a private A318, is over Connecticut on the approach into Newark. This plane comes every year, but I've never been able to figure out which delegation it flies.

1800L: Never mind, VP-CKH swung a turn south and is going either to LGA or HPN. Will update shortly.

1930L: CKH went to White Plains, and Brazil is taxiing out now for Islip.

Thursday, 9/18
1910L: Pretty quiet day today. A7-HJJ, the Qatar 330 that was here a couple days ago, is coming back tomorrow morning to JFK as QAF6. They’re currently over Syria, so probably 11-11.5 hours to go, and they’re scheduled out of JFK at 0850L to Dulles. A7-AAH, an A340-300 (also Qatar Amiri), departed Doha shortly before HJJ albeit on a slightly different route. I’ll keep an eye on it. The presidential TFR is active on Monday evening from 1815L to 1930L and on Tuesday night from 2045L to 2230L, this time over JFK.

1955L: Another one on the way. A6-PFG, a UAE (Abu Dhabi) 787-9, just departed Abu Dhabi as AUH06 bound directly for Stewart. This one's probably got about 12.5-13 hours left, which would put em into Stewart sometime after 0800L tomorrow morning. I'm going to start a new message for tomorrow's updates since this one's already getting pretty long.

2005L: Sorry, just noticed this. A Qatar Executive G700, A7-CHA, flew today from Maputo, Mozambique to Marrakesh and is now enroute from Marrakesh to JFK as QQE818, ETA 2140L. These guys used Qrex last year, so it's probably the head of state.

2205L: Brazil departed Islip just after 1730L directly home to South America. Mozambique Qrex landed at JFK around 20 mins ago and will reposition to Farmingdale probably around 2300L.

Somehow I think it will be a weak year for worthwhile aircraft despite being the UN's 80th anniversary. The repainted Nigerian A330 would be a decent one, although to me the 737 wore the colors better.

Great job as always jbluflyermatt, is the list of speakers out yet?

Unfortunately, I think you're right. Everyone I've spoken to has said there isn't much expected.

**All times reported in local time, four hours behind Zulu**

Friday, 9/19
0705L: Happy Friday, and happy start to UN weekend! The Qatar Amiri A340-300 that I mentioned last night, A7-AAH, did indeed go to JFK this morning, where it arrived just past 0600L. A7-HJJ, the A330, landed just a couple minutes ago. Abu Dhabi has about two hours to go, so they'll get to Stewart around 0900L. Kuwait is on the way. Their A340-500, 9K-GBB, is crossing over southern Italy as KUG002 bound for JFK, ETA of 1600L ish. This one repositions to Stewart later today. Racing Kuwait is another freaking Qatar Amiri, A7-MSD (a 777-200LR which the Qataris JUST took delivery of at the end of August, ex VP-CAL), which is west of Budapest calling as QAF10, also headed to JFK. This one will probably get in just ahead of Kuwait. Qatar will position to Dulles. I'll update on those ETAs later today.

0810L: Qatar 340 just departed JFK heading south, so probably going to Dulles. Abu Dhabi is about an hour from Stewart.

0930L: Qatar 340 went to Dulles. Qatar 330 departed JFK just shy of 0900L, also to Dulles. Abu Dhabi landed at Stewart right around 0900L.

1500L: Jordan’s G650, VQ-BNZ, landed at JFK just over an hour ago as RJA953 from DC and is taxiing out for departure now. Qatar 777 and Kuwait are like an hour from JFK.

1540L: Jordan’s Global 7500, VP-BHM, is on approach into LGA as RJA951, ETA 5-10 mins. Qatar 777 is about 10 minutes out, and Kuwait is like 30 minutes out.

1600L: Jordan 7500 landed at LaGuardia, and Qatar landed at JFK. Kuwait is about 10-15 out.

1710L: Jordan 7500 left LGA about 10 mins ago and is repositioning to Islip. Kuwait and Qatar are at JFK.

1905L: Kuwait repositioned to Stewart and Qatar to Dulles. Kuwait’s A319 ACJ, 9K-GEA, is descending over Vermont as KUG008, and it looks like they’re headed straight for Stewart. Should land in about 30 mins.

1925L: Kuwait 319 is about 10 mins out from Stewart. Kazakhstan’s A330, UP-A3001, is also inbound for JFK as BEC001 from Oslo. I would estimate a 2200L arrival for them. Scheduled to Stewart at 2300L as BEC009.

2105L: Kazakhstan is less than an hour out. That seems to be all for tonight.

2205L: Kazakhstan just landed at JFK.

Saturday, 9/20
0010L: Kazakhstan is live on the trackers so should be leaving JFK shortly, BEC009 to Stewart. ANOTHER Qatar Amiri is on its way. A7-HHM, an A330-200, is crossing through Germany as QAF4 to JFK, ETA around 0800L. Scheduled to IAD at 1030L. All things considered, this felt like a relatively busy Friday for gov’t traffic. It was great seeing some of you this evening, and looking forward to seeing the rest of you guys over the weekend.

0620L: Good morning! Plenty to look forward to today. HZ-SKY2, an Alpha Star A330-200 operating for Saudi Arabia, landed at JFK at 0530L. Qatar's 330 is less than two hours out from JFK now. PK-GIG, the government-painted Garuda Indonesia 777-300ER, is enroute from Osaka to JFK as GIA1 with an ETA in the late 1500L hour. Indonesia has never brought this thing to UNGA before (they haven't come at all for over a decade, and I think they got this bird within the past 10 years), so that's exciting. An Iraqi Airways 787-8, YI-ATC, departed Baghdad under an hour ago as IAW01 for JFK, which should put them into JFK around 1800L.

0630L: Sorry, another one I just saw. An MEA A330-200, OD-MEE, departed Beirut, Lebanon just over an hour ago for JFK as MEA001, ETA 1645L.

0740L: Saudi Arabia Alpha Star departed JFK around 0720L for Stewart. Qatar is 15 ish out. An Australia KC-30A (A330-200), A39-007, is airborne out of Honolulu for JFK as ASY335, arriving around 1600L.

0800L: Qatar 330 just landed. A Global Jet 737-900 BBJ, LX-DIO, is inbound for JFK as SVW46DD from Moroni, Comoros via Dakar. It’s an hour ish out.

0850L: Comoros Global Jet is on the descent over the sound. Paraguay’s Citation Sovereign, FAP3001, is over Maryland as FAP01 on what seems to be the Teterboro arrival track.

0925L: Comoros Global Jet landed JFK, and Paraguay just landed at Teterboro.

0940L: The Deer Jet 787 BBJ, 2-DEER, just departed Orlando as ANGOLA1 for JFK, obviously carrying the Angola delegation. Should be about two hours till arrival. Will reposition to Stewart.

1030L: Qatar just took off from JFK to Dulles, and Comoros Global Jet is taxiing out now for Stewart. Angola has an hour to go. Equatorial Guinea’s 777-200LR, P4-SKN, is over Lake Ontario and seems to be Newark bound. Should be arriving in less than an hour.

1105L: Comoros Global Jet out for Stewart. Equatorial Guinea is going to Newark, should be landing in about 10 mins. Angola has about 30 mins to go. A Slovakia A319 ACJ, OM-BYA, is airborne out of Bratislava for JFK as SSG001, landing maybe around 1830L? Will reposition to Farmingdale. A Poland 737-800 BBJ, 0112, is enroute from Warsaw to Newark as PLF101, ETA 1800L.

1255L: A Turkey A400, 17-0078, is east of the Cape as TUAF157 and seems to be headed to JFK. The Equatorial Guinea Falcon 900, 3C-ONM, is over Ontario and is headed to Newark, should be landing in an hour and change.

1425L: Eq. G. 777 went to Newark and then repositioned to Stewart, and their Falcon 900 is landing EWR now. Turkey landed JFK. Angola Deer Jet landed JFK and repositioned to Stewart. Indonesia and Australia are about two hours out, MEA Lebanon not too far behind.

1515L: Eq. G. Falcon landed EWR. Turkish A400 just departed JFK, probably to Dover. Botswana’s Global Express, OK1, is inbound from the northeast (currently over VT) as F001, likely going to Teterboro. Should land in 30-45. Australia and Indonesia are back to back about an hour out, and MEA Lebanon is right behind them.

1545L: Namibia’s Falcon 7X, V5-GON, is over the RI/MA border as NAM001, and it seems to be headed to Teterboro. Should land in 30-45. Uzbekistan’s 787-8, UK-001, is inbound for JFK as UZB1 from Tashkent, ETA sometime around 1730L. Currently over the St Lawrence River. Eq. G. Falcon departed Newark for Stewart. Botswana is about 10-15 out from Teterboro. Australia is on the descent over western NY, and Indonesia is north of Cleveland. MEA is over Maine. Turkey did indeed go to Dover.

1655L: Namibia and Botswana landed at TEB. Australia, Indonesia, and Lebanon all just landed at JFK. Uzbekistan is descending over RI (so probably 22L), and Iraq is over Montreal (so should be 13L for them).

1735L: Uzbekistan just landed at JFK, and Iraq is about 20 mins out. Slovenia’s (that’s a new one!) Falcon 2000, L1-01, is on the approach into either EWR or TEB over Middletown NY as LSV101. Should be landing in 15 ish. Poland and Slovakia are about an hour and a half from Newark and JFK, respectively. P4-CLO, a Comlux A330-200 operating for Congo, is just ahead of Slovakia as CONGO01, also headed to JFK.

1820L: Slovenia went to Teterboro, and Iraq landed at JFK. Congo Comlux is just north of Boston, Slovakia is near Portland ME, and Poland is on the descent north of Albany.

1850L: Congo joining the final at JFK now, and Slovakia is over the island. Poland landing Newark shortly. DRC’s 737-900 BBJ, T7-RDC, is crossing the Atlantic for JFK as DRC001, ETA 0030L. Ouch!

1900L: Congo landed JFK, and Poland landed EWR. Indonesia taxiing out for Dulles. MEA Lebanon will position to Stewart and Australia to Philly, not 100% sure on Uzbekistan.

1930L: Slovakia landed, and Indonesia out. MEA and Australia taxiing out now, MEA is going to Stewart and Australia to Philly. Another Poland 737-800 (non BBJ), 0110, is inbound for Newark as PLF110, just north of the Maine-Quebec border. ETA 2045L. Both Polish jets will reposition to Philly.

2050L: Poland 110 landing Newark now, while Poland 101 is departing for Philly. Iraq and Slovakia both just departed JFK for Stewart and Farmingdale, respectively.

2225L: Poland 101 positioned to Philly, and Congo Comlux positioned to Stewart as GJW29LO. Poland 110 is taxiing out at EWR now, also going to Philly. Uzbekistan is still at JFK. Iirc they stayed at Kennedy last time they came, so it's probably the same deal this time around. Besides DRC, I think that's everybody for today. Great seeing everyone out today, Bayswater was really popping this morning. See you all tomorrow.

Sunday, 9/21
0745L: Good morning! A Qatar Amiri 747-8, A7-HHE, landed at JFK just after 0600L this morning as QAF1 from Doha. Due out for Dulles at 0845L. ETA for both in the early to mid 1300L hour. Tajikistan's 787-8, EY-001, is north of the UK as SMR001 to JFK, ETA 1430L.

0805L: Canada is on its way down now. 144620, one of the CL-144s (Challenger 650), is descending for Teterboro as CFC01, should be landing in 15-20.

1045L: Canada landed Teterboro. Qatar left JFK for Dulles after 0900L. Peru’s 737-500, FAP-356, is coming up the coast as FAP001 for JFK, should be landing in an hour.

1125L: Peru is over DE, so should be about 30 till arrival. Senegal’s A320NEO ACJ, 6V-SEN, is southeast of Boston as SENE001, likely headed to JFK. Should be landing in about 45 minutes.

1200L: Peru just landed, and a C17 also landed not too long ago. Senegal is on the Kennedy arrival over LI.

1235L: Senegal also landed JFK. Turkey 1 is just north of Boston, Turkey 2 is over northern Maine, and Tajikistan is just north of Maine.

1345L: Turkeys have landed, Tajikistan landing shortly. Panama’s Legacy 600, HP-1A, is south of Ocean City MD heading northward and descending as PANAMA1, they usually go to White Plains. Peru departed JFK for Dover.

1505L: Tajikistan landed JFK. Panama went to HPN, as expected. Senegal positioned from JFK to Stewart. Abu Dhabi UAE departed Stewart about half an hour ago headed straight back to Abu Dhabi. A Qatar Amiri A320, A7-HWL, is crossing the St Lawrence River as QAF9 to JFK, probably two ish hours to go. This one is coming from Damascus, Syria via the UK (yes, Syria is chartering on a Qatari jet).

1610L: Turkey 1 just left JFK for Stewart, and the United Kingdom’s A321NEO, G-GBNI, just landed at JFK from Stansted as KRH645 (sorry, didn't realize I hadn't posted about this yet). Qatar 320 is north of Boston, so just over half an hour to go. A Turkmenistan 777-200LR, EZ-A780, is just crossing into Maine as TUG3201 for JFK, which means they’re just over an hour out.

1640L: Turkey 2 just left JFK for Stewart. Qatar is less than 5 out. Right in front of the Qatar 320 is a Global 6000 (TC-DDD) coming out of Tripoli, Libya.

1655L: Libya charter and Qatar 320 landed. Tajikistan left, probably to Stewart. Switzerland’s Falcon 900, T-785, is descending east of Albany for Teterboro as SUI008. Monaco’s Falcon 8X, 3A-MGA, is shortly behind the Swiss, also probably going to TEB.

1745L: Switzerland and Monaco landed TEB. Nigeria’s G550, 5N-FGW, is landing JFK now as NGR002. Brazil’s A319 ACJ, 2101, is on final approach into JFK as BRS01, should be landing in 5-10.

1755L: UK just departed for Islip.

1805L: Brazil and Nigeria landed JFK. Azerbaijan’s A319 ACJ, 4K-8888, is over Providence as AHY4731 to JFK, so should be landing in half an hour. A Czech Republic A319 ACJ, 2801, is just behind Azerbaijan as CEF01 but is going to Farmingdale. Bulgaria’s A319 ACJ, LZ-AOB, is just east of Albany as BGF004, also going to JFK. Should be landing in about 30 minutes. An Oman G550, A4O-AD, is north of Albany descending for one of the New Jersey airports as ORF5, probably going to Teterboro.

1840L: Azerbaijan landed JFK, and Czechia landed Farmingdale. Bulgaria’s landing 13L shortly. A Spain A310, T.22-2, is halfway over LI as AME4590 for JFK, should land in 15-20. A Vietnam Airlines 787-9, VN-A868, is descending north of Middletown NY as HVN1 for JFK, probably 30 ish out. Oman is landing Teterboro. Libya charter just departed JFK, not sure where they’re headed.

1935L: Bulgaria, Spain, and Vietnam landed JFK. Oman landed TEB. Libya charter repositioned to Islip. Excuse my language, but what a ****ing day! Banger after banger all afternoon. It’s unfortunate Bulgaria and Vietnam went 13L, but you win some and you lose some. Really great seeing everyone this weekend! Best of luck with any catches throughout the week.

2015L: Qatar 320 out of JFK to Dulles, Turkmenistan departed JFK for Stewart, and Nigeria just left JFK for Islip. A Global Jet A319 ACJ, P4-LTI, is descending over LI for JFK as GJW55TI from Libreville, Gabon via the Canaries.

An Italy VC-650A (G650ER), MM62346, is about to cross into Maine as IAM3140 for JFK, which should put them on the ground after 2200L. South Africa's 737-700 BBJ, ZS-RSA, is over the Atlantic south of Nova Scotia as LMG1 also to JFK, probably pretty similar arrival time as Italy.

2125L: Azerbaijan departed JFK for Stewart, and Spain is right behind.

0905L: Germany 10 ish out. Oman departed Teterboro about 45 mins ago, and it looks like they’re gone for good. 4K-AI88, an Azerbaijan G650, is over Nova Scotia as AHY600 to Newark, so it’s about an hour and a half to two hours out.

1045L: Germany landed JFK, will reposition to Dulles eventually. Azerbaijan G650 landed Newark. Azerbaijan's 777-200LR, 4K-AI001, is about halfway down Long Island for JFK as AHY6731, should land in about 15-20. Azerbaijan's A340-600, 4K-AI08, is over central Maine as AHY6733, also to JFK. South Korea's 747-8, 22001, is over northern Jersey just west of the city as KAF001 for JFK, so should be landing in about 20 mins. 1435L: Equatorial Guinea’s 777 has joined the Falcon at EWR. France 330 departed JFK for Dulles. Kyrgyzstan is on the approach over LI, so 20 ish to go. 1450L: A couple more things. N890DA, a G550, is landing TEB shortly as BISS001 from Bissau, Guinea Bissau. These guys have used 0DA in years past. Vietnam brought a backup jet, a VietJet A330-300 (VN-A817), to Stewart last night as VJC1. The other Spain A310, T.22-1, is over Hailfax as AME4596 to JFK, should be landing in an hour and a half to two hours. Unfortunately, I think you're right. Everyone I've spoken to has said there isn't much expected.

Aaaand I was wrong. Today was popping, even an interesting firs-timer with that Garuda 777. The best planes all came in daylight and perfect weather. Don't remember a Saturday or any single day having this many UN arrivals

Was the Iraqi told to expect 13L originally when he was still far away? I turned into live ATC and might have heard approach telling him that (not sure if that's what I actually heard)

**All times reported in local time, four hours behind Zulu**

Tuesday, 9/23
0740L: Morning! Argentina snuck in early this morning. Their 757-200, ARG-01 landed at JFK 0600L. Belgium departed Teterboro about 20 minutes ago for Andrews. Chile repositioned to Dulles last night. Qatar Amiri 777 is taxiing out for departure at Dulles now, headed back up to JFK. A Japan 777-300ER, 80-1112, is north of Winnipeg as JF001 for JFK, which is probably around three hours away? Today is the first day of the general debate, so we can expect stuff to start leaving already later today.

1030L: Qatar 777 at JFK, Argentina positioned to Dover around 0800L. Japan is descending now over Manhattan, so that three hour estimate was pretty spot on. Interesting that they only brought one plane this time around. Russia is on the way with RA-96023, an IL96, as RSD308. They departed Moscow about an hour ago, so should be landing just shy of 2100L. Turkmenistan and Qatar are amongst the aircraft scheduled to leave tonight.

1100L: Japan landed JFK, Qatar 777 is gone. Jordan is live on the trackers over at Islip, so may be coming back to the city soon. AF1 should be leaving around 2000L this evening.

1330L: Japan departed JFK for Dulles. Tajikistan just departed Stewart for JFK. Jordan never left Islip.

1410L: Both Equatorial Guinea birds returned from Stewart to EWR and departed EWR heading south. Tajikistan is back at JFK. Jordan is on its way back from Islip to LaGuardia, landing shortly.

1800L: Qatar 748 landed JFK. Qatar Amiri's G700 (yes, they have a G700, although it's painted like all the Qrex jets), A7-CHE, departed Dulles a short while ago and seems to be headed for JFK as QAF5, should be landing in less than half an hour. A Turkey G550, TC-ATA, flew into Stewart about a half hour ago as TRK25 from Istanbul. A7-MHH, the Qatar 319 that came yesterday, departed Stewart around 1430L and headed back out to the Atlantic. Jordan is taxiing for departure at LaGuardia now. Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are due from Stewart to JFK this evening and should be heading home.

1840L: Qatar G700 landed JFK, Jordan is gone. Iran positioned to BWI, I think that's the first time they've gone there. Turkmenistan is on the way down from Stewart to JFK now as TUG3202, should be landing in 15 ish. Due out at 2100L.

1940L: Turkmenistan back at JFK. Tajikistan departed JFK about 30 mins ago. Russia is about an hour and a half out. Bolivia’s Falcon 900, FAB-001, is headed up the coast for Teterboro, should be landing in about an hour and a half.

2025L: Qatar 748 taxiing out for departure at JFK now. Kazakhstan just departed Stewart for JFK. Bolivia is south of DC, so about 45 minutes out, and Russia is over the Cape, so 45 left for them as well.

2135L: Qatar 748 and G700 are gone. Kazakhstan at JFK alongside Russia and Mozambique Qrex (this one just popped back over from Farmingdale).

2140L: JFK just got shut down, so AF1 should be headed out soon.

2340L: Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan out. Mozambique Qrex just departed JFK and is headed back over the Atlantic. Russia should be leaving soon, going to IAD.

Wednesday, 9/24
0810L: Japan just departed Dulles and seems to be headed to JFK, so should be about 30-45 left till arrival.

0840L: Japan is on final approach for JFK, should be landing in 5-10. Japan's backup plane, an ANA 787-8 (JA805A), is also on its way from Dulles to JFK as ANA9402, which should land in just over 30 mins.

1355L: Czechia is live on the trackers which means it should be leaving Farmingdale shortly. Going to Logan first and then back home to Prague tonight. The Turkish Gulfstream that came yesterday is airborne out of Stewart for JFK as TRK5, the 748 and 330 should be following behind shortly.

1455L: Czechia left moments after my last message. Turkish A400 departed about 30 mins ago. Turkish Gulfstream at JFK, and the 748 just departed Stewart for JFK. Brazil is also on the way back over from Islip.

1445L: Congo and Slovakia out. Congo is headed to... yup, you guessed it... Oklahoma City? Not sure what's up with that. German Global returned to Teterboro. They went from a climb straight into a descent, so maybe a mechanical issue? Slovenia is due to depart Teterboro shortly for Cleveland (Cleveland has the highest number of Slovenians of any city outside of Slovenia, believe it or not), so gonna have to run to Hopkins to get that one.

1425L: The Azerbaijan party is happening at JFK, and I guess they scared Senegal away (it’s about time, they landed almost five hours ago). Senegal taxiing for departure at JFK. Pakistan departed Islip about 20 minutes ago, and it looks like they’re going over to Newark.

1645L: Pakistan did indeed go to Newark, departed there about 20 mins and seems to be gone for good this time. DRC is back at JFK. The Azerbaijan trio has departed JFK to cross back over the Atlantic.

1835L: Forgot to mention that Qatar HJJ departed JFK for Doha around 1530L. Jordan departed JFK around 1730L, headed to the Atlantic. DRC taxiing for departure at JFK now.

2030L: DRC is gone. Swaziland and Colombia are back at JFK. UK departed Islip 15 ish ago heading directly back to the UK. Iran and Kuwait 345 are on the way into JFK from BWI and Stewart, respectively. Iran is about 10 out, and Kuwait is probably 20-25 out.

2245L: Colombia left JFK around 2215L. Swaziland and Iran both just took off outta JFK. Kuwait 345 and 319 are on the ground at Kennedy along with Bulgaria, who came down from SWF about an hour ago. Three government A340s on the ground earlier, that's pretty awesome.

Saturday, 9/27
0940L: Kuwait duo and Bulgaria left JFK last night. Botswana departed Teterboro about 20 mins ago and seems to be headed out to the ocean. Saudi Alpha Star 319 (SKY4) repositioned from Islip to JFK this morning and departed JFK just before 0700L. Iraq is taxiing out of SWF now for JFK.

1240L: Iraq at JFK, Russia taxiing out at Dulles for JFK.

1535L: Iraq departed JFK around 1330L for Baghdad. Russia landed JFK around 1330L, due to leave 1600L. Germany 350 is on the way from IAD to JFK, should be landing in about 15 minutes.

1715L: Russia left JFK about 30 mins ago. Nigeria popped back over from Islip around 1330L and departed JFK just after 1600L.

2120L: Libya charter positioned from Islip to JFK, picked up, then left JFK around 2000L. Eq. G. 777 repositioned from Stewart to Newark and then left EWR around 2015L. Colombia’s Legacy repositioned from Philly to Teterboro and is there now. Germany departed JFK around 1800L. Turkey’s G550 is back at JFK as of about 1830L, should be leaving soon for Ankara.

2325L: Colombia Legacy is still at TEB. Turkey G550 left JFK just before 2200L. Namibia departed Teterboro after 0830L this morning headed back home to Africa. Sierra Leone departed TEB around 1800L yesterday to DC. Azerbaijan's G650 departed Newark early yesterday headed to London. Turkey's A400 came back into JFK on Thursday evening from Andrews and then departed a couple hours later for Europe. We're at the end of the general debate week, which begs the question: who's left? Dubai is at Islip (I bet you forgot they were still here), Saudi Alpha Star A330 is at Stewart, Equatorial Guinea Falcon is at Newark, Panama and VP-CKH are at White Plains, Israel is at JFK, and Greece and Colombia are at Teterboro. I assume most of those will leave tomorrow and Monday.

Sunday, 9/28
1410L: Panama departed HPN right around 1045L for Panama City. The Mali Embraer charter is coming back to HPN from Shannon, likely to pick up the Malian PM. ETA 1615L.

Monday, 9/29
1000L: Israel departed JFK at 0930L, probably headed to Andrews for Netanyahu's meeting with Trump later today. Saudi Alpha Star A330 positioned from SWF to JFK midday yesterday, picked up, and left JFK around 1630L. VP-CKH departed HPN around 1600L yesterday for Vegas. Greece departed Teterboro at midnight on Sunday (not last night, but two nights ago), and Colombia's Legacy departed about 30 mins later. Angola brought a second jet, D2-ANH (Global Express), which arrived into TEB on the 16th and departed Friday evening. This means that all that's left are Mali, Dubai, and Equatorial Guinea's Falcon, which is still at EWR.

Tuesday, 9/30
0825L: Dubai came back to JFK this morning, picked up, and departed about 10 mins ago for London. A Colombia 737-400, FAC1209, went to Stewart last night around 2130L from Dayton. Mali charter departed HPN yesterday around 2200L back home to Bamako via the Azores.

Wednesday, 10/1
1915L: It's October already?? Equatorial Guinea's Falcon finally left Newark today around 1530L. Colombia's 737-400 is still up at Stewart, but other than that, UNGA 2025 is ovahhhhh. I swear every year goes by quicker than the year before. This year was probably one of the best years for UNGA spotting given the sheer volume of traffic. Of course we don't have any of the classic metal anymore (Burkina Faso 727, Gambia IL62, Congo 707, etc), but the number of visitors this year made up for it in my opinion. I'll post the full list of aircraft once I get a chance to compile that over the weekend. It was really great seeing everyone a couple weekends ago, some familiar faces and some new ones too. 350 ish days till the next one. P.S. another Russian IL96 came into JFK today, dropped off, and repositioned to Dulles. Keep an eye out over the coming days for a potential return trip.

Saturday, 10/4
0250L: A little cold is keeping me up at this hour. The Colombian 737-400 departed Stewart Thursday morning for the DC area, which means we're officially done. A7-MSD, Qatar Amiri's 777-200LR, paid JFK another visit late Wednesday night and departed Thursday evening. RA-96023, the Russian IL96 that stopped by JFK on Wednesday, is still at Dulles. I would expect them to be coming back through the NY area at some point over the weekend. See below the final list of visitors for this year's UNGA:

*I think AirX (the operator of 9H-NYC) uses random-callsign-generator.net. Check out the history of that airplane... every flight has a completely different callsign from the one prior.

This year beat last year by a landslide in my opinion. We had most of our usual suspects this year in addition to some rarer ones for UNGA (e.g. Bulgaria, Indonesia, Slovenia, Vietjet). I was lucky enough to catch that Slovenian jet at Cleveland Hopkins later in the week (their president visited Cleveland right after her UNGA speech), which we quite possibly might never see in the US again.

Hopefully the 330 will come this year after Nigeria’s president cancelled his visit last second in 2024. And he did it again this year... third time's a charm in 2026?

It was great seeing so many of you during the arrivals weekend! Plenty of familiar faces along with some new ones. I'm going to try to figure out how to get my photos on the forum eventually.

Only 11 months till the next one. Until then, happy spotting!

Have they used 13L at all or landings? I only remember Indonesia and one of the Qatar Amiri A320s landing there. Anyone else? It's mostly been 4/22s everyday.

..well until today Friday 26th! Kennedy finally changed the pattern and used 31s all morning until early afternoon. MEA and Azerbaijan wouldn't show up at all on some years so Azerbaijan is making up for lost time. Looks like there's no party like an Azerbaijan party (or shopping spree) so they brought THREE aircraft - only Qatar can bring more. Speaking of Qatar, their vip A332 was still wearing the older Oryx tail style which goes down to the fuselage.

Iran had to leave at night as usual :frown: boo!! Colombia better be leaving quick after what their president tried to incite, don't let the door hit ya edit: JFK finally used 13s, for a couple of hours Saturday the 27th

Guinea Ecuatorial P4-SKN left to Miami, then flew back up and then to LA out west - the paintscheme looks like a flying ghetto Cadillac

I've finally decided to start uploading my stuff to Flickr (https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCwkxd). Let me know if that link doesn't work.

Another project I've been working on over the weekend... a master list (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SIm3sxex-0ZyWGLrM4WDZtxBtBkNjz4k5pxw1RxzSDg/edit?usp=sharing) of all the UNGA aircraft since 2016 (each year has a different tab in the Google Sheets). If anything is missing in there, please let me know and I'll add it! This will hopefully be a good resource to help determine what to expect in the future, and it'll also be a cool thing to look at in a decade to see what's changed over time.
