Hey Guys, Just a quick note that Boston Logan now has gates that can handle the A380. Emirates ran a one off 380 today on their afternoon flight. BA has announced regular service to Logan 3 days a week starting with the summer schedule March 28, 2017
Here is a shot of Emirates 237 super rolling out on runway 22L

That's awesome Rich .... now if only BA at JFK would update their gates to handle the A380.

Thanks Mark, with BA at JFK it's more about the amount of flights, than capacity I would assume.

Boston has received the A380 before, so I'm curious what this is in reference to. What changes were made? Just some gates?

According to the Environmental Analysis docs for the Terminal E expansion, BOS was only able to take 380s on diversions.
See Pages 2-14 to 2-16 here: https://www.massport.com/media/337677/TerminalE_EA_073015_signed.pdf
The new project for Terminal E was to add 3 Group VI-capable (A380/B748) gates, and I believe Massport has also done some of the required taxiway upgrades. Lufthansa already brings the 748 to Boston, but its wingspan is smaller than the 380, and I believe it can operate on the ground as a Group V-and-a-half aircraft. Newark also isn't technically Group VI-compatible, but it's a 748 station for LH, as well.
