Originally scheduled on a 1pm commute at FLL, I decided to go later, and thank God I did. At around 12:55, a shooter opened fire in the baggage claim of Terminal 2. Five are reported dead and at least 13 injured.

Apparently a second shooter has opened fire in Terminal 1 just a few minutes ago. The airport is closed.

Reports of a second shooter in Terminal 1 were false. The shooter in Terminal 2 has been identified as Esteban Santiago, a passenger onboard DL-1088 (ANC/MSP) Thursday night, and DL-2182 (MSP/FLL) this morning. The gun had been his only checked luggage.

Numerous inbound flights diverted to JAX, MCO, PBI and MIA, with most afternoon/evening flights being cancelled. I ended up taking a flight out of PBI and that was the most crowded I have ever seen that terminal.
