Hey Guys,

After months of rain (Austin already exceeded its annual rainfall average by end of April) I decided that some sunshine was in order, and thankfully Phoenix never seems to disappoint in that regard. I made a bit of a circuit of the bigger airports in the city and wound up with a healthy selection of nice images for about 8 hours of total time invested. Quite a nice way to continue easing back into spotting. And now, for photos.

I started off at Luke Air Force Base, a new stop for me. Got lucky with the last flight ops before a Friday AETC stand down to give the airmen a nice 4 day weekend.

I had not seen one of these extremely golden canopy tints in a while, Have Glass anyone?

Next up was Mesa's Williams Gateway International Airport. Usually home to a decent number of military transients. The day I was there, home to exactly 0 military movements, but all was not lost.

Surprise of the day goes to this Neptune, blasting off about 20 seconds after I got the car parked and before the light had really gotten good

Last but not least was a visit to Sky Harbor to try a different vantage point (for me): The Terminal 3 parking garage. I was pleased with the results

damn that phx light! wow! Sure is crisp.

Love the Native Air (EAS?) bird. Doubt they get photographed often so it's nice to see them. I hadn't known about them until this post.

You're making it hard on me to resist PHX much longer! Thanks for sharing this splendid set Nick.

Thank you both! That afternoon light was certainly Splendid.

Skyteam, Native Air is a careflight type medevac operator. They also operate some smaller rotary-winged types (got a photo that I wasn't pleased with enough to post here). But I do love the look of that PC-12.

They fly a number of Airbus (Eurocopter) AStars all about Arizona. Saw one a few years ago in Tucson. They are a subsidiary of Air Methods.
