Greetings,
I,we picked this newbie up at JFK today. We almost missed it do to 3 different runway assignments 22L then 13L then BACK to 22L. It was maddening. VQ-BSK was being vectored for 22L initially but due to a SWR A330 emergency the pilot eventually opted for Runway 13L (Instead of going into a holding pattern. Then after the SWR landed the Controller suddenly instructed the pilot to go BACK to 22L and he was almost passing through through the approach course). I would have missed the arrival if I had crossed Rockaway Blvd. When I heard the initial runway change all I could do was get in my car and go. Anyway I would have really preferred that they flew in the 747SP come in (VP-BAT) but oh well. I am glad to see others are utilizing the scanners and knew what was going on as I did not have the time to yell to everyone.
