Checked out some small fields north of KSAT last weekend. First is Twin Oaks, T94, 2.5 miles to the north and right around the corner from my house. It has been there for decades, long before the houses popped up and surrounded it. Though neighbors have tried to get it closed for safety reasons it's still open. My favorite plane hangared there would be this RV-7, built and owned by a local corporate pilot it is the nicest plane at the field...

Further up the highway at 14 miles to the north is Bulverde airport, 1T8. Tucked away in Smithson Valley in the hill country there are several places to view aircraft from including a city park across from the main entrance, I stayed by the approach end of 16 near the Fire Dept./PD buildings. One lifting off..

A little further at 19 miles from KSAT is Kestrel Airpark,1T7, more of a subdivision with a runway. Sat there for about 30 minutes with no activity then this Nanchang popped out of a hangar and the owner was nice to allow some photos...
