Lost all photos. NEED ADVICE FOR DATA RECOVERY

Stupid me for not backing up...
So my toshiba 1 TB external HD was making this clicking sound a couple of months ago. I haven't plugged it in since. I've been exploring so many options for data recovery, but there are so many, and they all say they are the data recovery experts.

Maybe one of you guys (Manny?) knows a reliable place to send my drive for repair.

This was about three years ago but when my laptop, HD was corrupted I just took it to Best Buy. Service was average and they had to send the HD off site so it took about a week and a half to get the recovered data back. Form what I remember just about everything was recovered maybe minus a couple of photo files. It ended up costing around $1,000 but at least I got my photos back.

I definitely learned my lesson to back-up my files!
