Went to DTW 2 weeks ago and spotted at the Big Blue Deck. We walked around to try to get a new angle and saw some other spotters taking registrations. A police cruiser pulled up and asked us all to leave. He said he personally didn't have a problem with it but it had been reported to an administrator. We didn't push it and just left since it was airport property.

I've never heard of anyone getting hassled up there. Did you follow up with WCAA at all? I've never been asked to leave even when on airport property at DTW regardless of a report.

I did not. I was only there for half an hour and didn't know what the standard was about being hassled.
