Greetings,
I went down to Dover AFB to get some shots of the Pakistan C-130. Was hoping the Swedish C-130 was still there but it departed yesterday afternoon. I have wanted PAAF for quite some time so I am glad to finally get that one under my belt. The last PAAF aircraft I got at DOV was the IL-76.

I TOTALLY forgot to let me camera get acclimatized to the surrounding temperature and the PAAF didn't turn out well. Internal lens temp vs outside. As usual I fight against chance- always a fight always a battle. The same time I was supposed to go the heat wave comes to greet me with 90 degree temps screwed up any decent shots I would have hoped to get with God awful heat haze. After shooting DOV I went to KWRI in hopes to get lucky this time around. Unfortunately it was the regulars.

The White 757-200/C-32B is a McGuire regular USAF FEST

Thanks John,
Never get tired of catching C-130s.

And they're so slow, it's easy to catch them! ;-)

That's true.
My only disappointment with the type is the J model. They just don't produce that nice deep roaring sound u get with those 6 blades sound more like a buzz :/
Thankfully there are plenty of 4 bladed C-130s flying around.

Nice shots Senga! On the plus side it's easier to get the full prop blur disc on the J models!

Very cool coverage, thanks for sharing!
Looks like the PAAF C-130 is getting some work done to the #2 engine...

I was able to get a PAAF C-130 about a month ago at DOV.

Picture was taken from the Air Museum so there's a ton of heat haze...

I caught a high C-130 heading north along the Jersey coast the afternoon of the 16th. At the time I thought it was Marines but now I'm hoping it was the Swedish Air Force:

Captmjk16,
That's true about the 6 blades and the Blade condensation is better too with 6 :)

The Swedish C130 departed just after 12pm so you can compare your time stamp on your images and see if that was it or not. It does look more like the Swedish than a USAF C130.

Hey Senga, I can totally relate to the timing thing, the week of planespotting I did right before starting my new job last summer was the week in July we had 95 degrees and higher each day. It was miserable and if I had been doing anything else, AT ALL, I would have been miserable.

You are correct, it sometimes feels like battle against the gods of chance. Nice shots of the tankers!

Yes that's true,
Its all about maximizing the opportunity/chance and then doing your best with what you have to work with to get your target and accepting the outcome. I still struggle with the outcome part. Yea some of us have to fight for every inch we get.
