Great morning out with don, then spent the rest of the day telling mom, "5 more minutes." That went on for about 6 hours as we waited for a delayed 77F and had a nice ORANGE surprise early on in the morning! Seeing Jet Airways back at Kennedy was nice as well! [Facebook messes with the quality]

Perfect set. How many millimeters are needed to make these pictures of aircraft in flight?

Killer cargos! Great seeing you out there Jared. I left HOBE way too early. I'll post my lowly 2 or 3 shots later.

From HOBE (Howard Beach location) you need at least a 400mm lens.

I know a couple who shoot with a 200mm...though very far away and with a heavy crop the images are still very good. 400mm will fill the frame darn near perfect just about every time...anywhere from 300-400 is comfortable for the entire plane.

Very nice...

I got some ok pics of bigger planes with mine 300mm(my camera is x2 crop). Smaller planes are little too far @ that location for me.

A few weeks ago when the tide was very low at HOBE I was able to walk out very far into the bay. Using a D7000 and a 70-200, after heavy cropping, I was able to get some fair results on a few 747's and A380's.

Nice grab on the TNT which pops in once in a blue moon. Thumbs up Don on the 727 and Kuwait A340.
