Yes, it is a great spot. It is very close the new runway 10C/28C and 28R departures are also visible. Us ORD guys are really trying to take advantage of it, because we never know if/when it will be taken away from us. So we are using it to the fullest!

Awesome shots Delta300, Brings back memories of my 6 years living is the Chicago Area That's where my hobby really took off. Things sure have changed there from 1996-2002. I was there last winter and the preceding summer took some pix while I was there again. Based on your images seems I should have gone again this year. Nothing like shooting in -15F! degree temps.

When i was out it got up to 8 degrees haha. Ya, the entire configuration of the airport is changing. Once 28L/10R and 27C/9C open up, things will really be different.

Yea KORD can use so many runways at one time. When I lived there they had not done the airport/runway construction yet. They had runway 9R/9L/22L/22R/32L/32R AND still had runway 36! They were still in a land battle with the neighborhoods to the WEST that they eventually won and bulldozed over making more space for the airport and runways. Very easy airport to shoot at and easy to get around. If you want you can see some of my older shots and see some of the old spots and some of the new spots.

Yea, it was enjoyable shooting in those extreme temps. One time I was walking to a spot and fell into 1 foot of standing water thinking it was frozen solid. When I got out my pants up to the knee had turned to solid ice :) I even remember seeing a AAL A300 being used as a giant snow removal on one of the Runup pads. It was going in tight circles with high thrust blowing the snow off the pad. Great memories.

Thanks man! It was mega cold out, but well worth it. Senga- that must have been quite a sight! I wish I would have started taking pics earlier in my life because I missed out on many things, including stuff like that!
