Those owls, some of which have been shot at JFK for being in a wildlife preserve near JFK, will get a reprieve according to the Daily News. Some guy upstate plans to capture, then remove them to the wild. The Audubon Society has been strangely silent in this matter. Let's hope this effort is true. The PA claims owls have caused bird strikes recently.

So, capture them [from] the wild they live in now, to release them to [another] wild? Seems silly to me. There are probably 100 or more different species of birds in the Jamaica Bay area and trying to remove any or all will be a very entertaining feat to watch if someone actually tries to do it. LOL

Manny (or anyone) why have the owls become a "nuisance" recently? If they have been around awhile why all of a sudden are they acting up?
