Maybe it was an individual jumping out of a plane and the next thing you know .... bam .... hit by a Virgin! That is on hell of a dent to say the least.

We had an Air Wisconson CRJ-200 on the DME 31 approach to LGA the other night that hit 3 seagulls at about 200 feet right around the Captains windshield. Ended up just being a big mess but no actual damage MTC released it about 3 hours later making for a late night at the office.

My guess would be a Canadian Goose. They have been on the move enmasse and they are huge suckers.
