Fasil .... According to a PANYNJ document I saw on the web (see below):

"“What are Port Authority of NY & NJ aircraft parking limitations?”• Kennedy, Newark, LaGuardia and Teterboro Airports all have a two (2) hour standing limit for diplomatically cleared flights during UNGA.
• Aircraft are required to unload the dignitary/delegation and reposition the aircraft to another location within this two (2) hour window.
• This is strictly enforced by all four airport authorities."

Yea, there is a 2 hour limit at JFK. However, my JFK ops buddy tells me that so very often, some of these guys land and say "oh, the planes broken, we cant leave." But when the VIP is ready to leave, the plane is magically fixed! lol

Jason .... Not many aircraft stick around if at all after they come in. Drop the goods and leave! Maybe the Port Authority should tow illegally parked planes during UN Week and charge a hefty fee to get them back! That should teach a lesson to those foreign dignitaries.

The PANYNJ should charge them the daily T5 garage fee ;), that will definitely teach them a lesson! I kid...

Well, that was to support the Thunderbirds. And remember, unlike an A340, the C-17 has actual take off performance. The A340 would be half way to Huntington still trying to get off the ground!

That often happens when they fly out of range of the receiving stations, which are all part of a private network. I host one and the range on it is at most a couple hundred miles. I wouldn't be surprised if it pops back up when its off the coast of Canada.

Looks like it will be repositioning to IAD this afternoon. Also, there is an outside chance that this might be their brand new 747-8i BBJ. A source in Kansas City told me it left MCI where it was being outfitted within the past week.

Edit: Of course, it could also be a figment. Kuwait is known for those around here lately.

Practice landing was this afternoon, 2x MV-22, 2x VH-3 did the Presidential rehearsal, then all 3 MV-22s landed, looked around for a while, and took off again. They look spectacular in the gloss green paint.

JFK had South Africa BBJ, Tunisia BBJ, Uganda G550, Senegal 319, MEA A330, Gabon 772, Swazi MD-87,and the repainted Libya 342.

As of this morning, SWF had the Kuwait 345, Angola Global, Zimbabwe, Chile 763, and UAE 320 A6-DLM.

Was sunbathing Fri. PM at Coney Beach, Sept. 20, suddenly, heard a loud roar. Saw an Osprey V-22 accompanied by 2 US helicopters. Couldn't see the liveries as the sun was glaring. Was this a dry-run for Air Force One on Sept. 23? The aircraft were flying along the coast, east to west then turned towards Manhattan. I guess I was the only 1 to see this.Yes, it was the rehearsal, which always takes place 2 or 3 days before the President arrives. HMX-1 did the full Presidential landing, with 2 MV-22s landing and shutting down (andthe third MV-22 peeling off) followed by the 2 VH-3Ds. Everything then spooled up and departed, and all 3 MV-22s returned again to land, sat for a couple of minutes, and then left. The choreography is a little different now because the MV-22s travel perpendicular to the long axis of the rotors instead of the VH-46s, which travel along the rotor axis.

Just a little "other side" of UN Week!! Finished my medical appts at 1 today and walked from 68/1st down to East 34 Street Heliport. With all the dignitaries still in the UN you couldnt go down a street around the UN from 53 to 34 and not see a motorcade/protection detail idling including what looked like Obamas on E42 Street between 1/2 Ave (minus The Beast of course)!! In front of one building on 2 Ave and 44 Street there were about 15 govt agents in a circle discussing something. I'm thinking it was probably pizza or Subway!! :cool::cool: At the heliport there was one Sikorsky S-76 there that departed around 3PM and I did see a few TSA agents there. I gather they are doing the screening for the week for outbound copters and iunbound must stop at a designated airport, FRG again?
And what AMAZING weather? Sitting by the river by the heliport the ceiling and visibilty was unlimited!! Just beautiful!! Did look like the LGA Runway 31 arrivals were coming in from the East over Manhattan then over the Harbor banking left to fly over Brooklyn/Queens!!

Great shots everyone. Mark - love that Air Zimbabwe 767 in front of the Triple Hangar. Proves that you don't have to have sun for a great picture. Not sure what it is about it that makes it stand out - perfect exposure, the atmosphere with the history in the background and the rainy ramp surface - exceptional
Wanted to thank everyone for the great company over the last 5 days - I had a great time and enjoyed meeting you all. Can't wait to process my images - I left after Air Force One arrived to catch my flight home and obviously missed some great captures on Monday afternoon - would have loved the TU154. Can't imagine anyone having the balls to fly across the Atlantic in a TU154!!

I took my annual UNGA trip to SWF today in hopes to get some more unique visitors. Pulled of a few new ones this year at SWF. I was happy to get the new livery on a Gambian IL-62. I did shoot the Old Gambian IL-62 in 2004. Also the Congo 707-100 was up there- A bit of a disappointment as I flew to MIA for the ramp tour last winter to shoot it there only to have it turn up at the UNGA. At least my shots of it this time were far better than what I got at MIA. The best catch for me was the Ivory Coast 727-200 as I technically already had the other 2. I was hoping it might come in for the UNGA and sure enough it shows up!

Nothing that hasn't been covered at JFK with the exception of the Equatorial Guinea 77L. Apparently the JASDF 744's were returning to IAD tonight.

Hi guys, the question I have is due to this UNGA being longer, when will these aircraft be back at JFK? I would have guessed the weekend but there is a break Sunday and then more meetings Monday and Tuesday. all the way I'm planning a trip to JFK but that is throwing me off

Right on, the KAC B744 passed by my house using the CRI Approach but I missed it as well as the UAE A388 (non-UN). I was just wondering how the diplomats from the other over 100 countries arrive at the UN? We never hear about Russia, Canada, China, Mexico. Israel, etc. Do these fly on regular flights or use private aircraft? Just wondering?Many countries fly commercial. If there's a head of state, they may book the entire First cabin. If it's just the Foreign Minister or something, then it's probably a couple of seats up front and then a whole bunch of coach. For example, when I was driving past T1 over the weekend, I saw a bunch of suits/earpieces get out of a marked NYPD car, and a couple of cars with Austrian dip tags idling at the curb, so I would assume their delegation took the regular OS flight to get here. Having dealt with a handful of head of state moves in a previous job, flying commercial is not even all that uncommon.

For the ones you've listed -
Russia: usually a pretty big flotilla, although Lavrov is already here and I don't know if Putin is going to show up himself.
Canada: sometimes the A310, usually just a Challenger. Someone posted an alert for CANFORCE 1 at TEB a few pages up.
China: Usually an Air China 763 or 744. Trackable. Look for an odd flight number.
Mexico: 757 TP-01. Trackable as MAF1.
Israel: Usually an El Al 767. Uses fixed call ELY33/34.

Also keep in mind that UN Week is still ongoing - some of these countries haven't spoken yet. Israel, I know, isn't coming until next week. Today, tomorrow, and Saturday are all Jewish holidays, so the earliest Netanyahu would come in would be Sunday morning.

I also saw a C-40 (way in the distance) depart JFK at 8:40am.

When I returned home I saw another C-40, 05-0932 that left from NYC and a G-5, 97-1944 that left from EWR around 6pm. Also CS-TQX left EWR as EQG1 and 5A-ONE arrived at JFK from STW around 8:30pm. 10 minutes later CEF2, 2801 arrived at JFK from AUS…

Also I had rent a cops "hello sir you can't be taking pictures here" at the garage. Later there were two on the roof probably chasing off someone else or just chilling up there.. Logo on these cars had blue letters with something yellow I think, didn't catch the name. Can the supervisors of thse people be contacted. Any tips?

Nice shot Misael I was a level below you shooting that 747, the Vietnam 777 came in later. I also saw that Iranian white-Assman plain A340, also spotted the Swaziland MD87 taxxing, but didn't see it leave. Did any of the parking security rent a cops see you or say anything?

Thanks Speedbird. I actually bought one yesterday at Radio Shack, thank God there was a store right near the train station here in Elizabeth NJ where Im staying.

They used the 4s all day and the main frequencies were different than the main ones on live ATC, so that threw me off some. Yep that's the security company that drives around T5, and the logo looked similar to the Air Train security, probably same company. I was near the west edge and the security lady down there at those booths yelled "ya can't take picture hea", but the security guys that came up were not mean to me or anything, just clueless / ignorant. One guy maintained photography from there is illegal and, then brought up all kind of excuses from federal buildings to 9/11 to Boston. Despite there being no law against it since everyone has a smartphone to snap away these days. When I thought I had them convinced after about an hour of this show... they said they have to follow what their supervisors tell them and said they would have to call the cops and I'm not up for that drama, so I told them they are right and they won and doing a great security job in that corner all talking to me lol.

As of this morning, SWF still had the Kuwait 345 and 319, the Pakistan G450, the Brunei 342, and the Comlux A320 opf Malaysia. The Brunei and the small Kuwait have since gone back to Kennedy and presumably overseas. The German 340 also came through JFK this afternoon (as did a Dreamlifter!).

HPN had the Ireland G-IV

Nothing obviously UN-related this morning at TEB, but the Namibia Falcon later repositioned up from Wilmington and is now on the way back to Windhoek (via Sal)

Replies very much appreciated. Interesting that almost all the VIPs have left when there's still 2 more days of meetings.

So both Rusia and Gambia were night time stuff.. checked in flightradar and apparently the Lybia was night time as well although that scheme I find hideous compared to the great Afriquiya color scheme.

If it takes a clown to bring an IL62 I'm cheering for that clown lol ... Speaking of clowns, I was wondering if Maduro of Venezuela would show up the UN one day in the Cubana IL96 since he uses it to travel abroad sometimes.
