Camped out in a parking lot on Jericho Tpke. and watched the Norwegian turn a long final for 22L (thank God for Flightradar). Along with the LOT arrival earlier in the afternoon, it was my second 787 sighting of the day. The red & white color scheme gets my vote as one of the classiest at JFK, (after the Hawaiian A-330 of course).

Sorry for this off topic pic, but since Jason posted "Spotter Kitty" maybe animals are somewhat relevant. That brings me to this question- Anyone know what this animal is? I spotted him last week at the mounds. My guess is he's a groundhog, but something doesn't look right with the muzzle shape and eyes. First I thought he was a super-sized rat, but not really rat shaped. A woodchuck? I'm stumped.

Great photos, everyone! Looks like the light was perfect for the arrival of EI-LNA. I spent a few hours out at JFK earlier in the afternoon before heading into the city around 6pm. I'm sorry to see I missed the group and of course the highlight of the day, but at least I got one 787. There are quite a few new aircraft at JFK that I need to photograph but unfortunately they were sending the euro heavies to both 13L and 22L so it was kind of a mess and on top of that there were a few delayed inbound a/c. Still need the AA 77W and SU 77W but happy to have the EY 77W now!

Don....next time you're out there, bring your camera gear. You'll definitely need the 100-400mm, and having the cropped sensor definitely helps. Having FlightRadar24 or PlaneFinder helps along with Plane Finder AR! Point Plane Finder AR with your iPhone and you'll see various flights, but what I like about it is that it gives you the range (in miles) from you to the aircraft and the general direction I should be looking towards.
