Has anyone here had any experience touching up the black paint on a Canon body? My 5D2/16-35 was on a tripod over the weekend and fell over, scratching up my hood pretty bad and knocking a load of paint off near the left side back buttons and up top near the flash shoe. Broke my heart and continued a recent rash of bad luck I've been having!
The paint on the body seems really thin but I can't think of any paint to get that wouldn't be too thick and look terrible/not blend in.

Those are battle scars - wear them proudly...just come up with a better story as to how it happened, photographing Zulu warriors in the Congo or something.

Looks like there are plenty of sources for the white paint to touch up your Canon L-glass, but nowhere to get the black paint for the body.

I agree with Moose, those battle scars add character to your camera!
Seriously though I think you are better off keeping the scratches than attempting to fix it and having it look worse than it already is.

Take it as a battle scar. In the future, particularly if you're concerned with resale value, consider putting electrical tape on highly used spots on the camera. All of mine are covered in black electrical tape.
