Emergency at JFK today? 3/19/13

I was spotting outside my house (northern LI), right where planes turn for the final 22L. But anyways, i was listening to the tower and i heard something about an emergency inbound. Anybody have some insight on this?

Actual there were two emergencies very close to each other and both CRJs I believe. One had an issue with its nose gear and the other a United Express with one engine. Supposedly the other engine shut down. One landed on 31R and other landed on 31L while they were using the 22s

Oh, I think I heard one of them request 31L, kindof upset didn't get to see it... then again, i would much rather have him go for 31L and be safe. :)

Yea, near simultaneous emergencies on nearly identical aircraft. Pretty funny!
