In 1977, I was really into Space and was fascinated with Spielbergs' amazing film " Close Encounters of the Third Kind". That Mother Ship ressembled a floating city. It seems some of the idea came when Spielberg saw oil refineries down in Texas and he decided to add skyscrapers on top. Anyway, the original model used now resides in the Udvar-Hazy Center near the Air France Concorde and other treasures. I even heard there's an R2D2 as well. The model weighs 400 pounds but is disappointing as there are no colored lights; it's silver-grey and colorless yet fascinating. The colors were added-in by the Hollywood geniuses. One day, I must visit this Smithsonian Museum. I've seen the Museum on the Mall but the real great aircraft are also in Virginia. The Mall still has the Spirit of St. Louis but size restrictions limit large aircraft. Reagans' Air Force One is at his Museum in California.
