This is the craziest thing I ever posted but I saw a film last night, "Sleepers" with DeNiro, Hoffmann, and Pitt. Suddenly, in the last hour, they show an area that looks very much like the hill that used to be just north of Rwy 22L at JFK by Rockaway Blvd. The scene shows an arriving aircraft pass overhead then touch-down and then there was a revenge "hit" in this violent film. How can I learn the actual spot used in this 1996 film? Warning: Very disturbing film and lots of violence. Also, the film was made around the NYC area. It could be Planeview Park at LGA as well but the clue is the hill.

Reminder that the airplane sequence is maybe only 2 minutes in length and is in the last hour. The film is very disturbing to watch and is supposed to be based on a true story by the author but NYS says these things never happened upstate. Outstanding cast: DeNiro, Hoffmann, Pitt, etc.

That's fine with me. There are countless excellent short aviation-related sequences buried in movies. In Casino, another DeNiro masterpiece, there is an excellent 747 landing. Another classic is the Continental DC-10 landing at the beginning of The Earthling.

And if you're into disturbing movies, try 'Old Boy', 'Martyrs', or Human Centipede'

Wasn't there also an airport scene in the film, "Goodfellas"? Somebody told me about it and that it could be near 22L at JFK. Another great airplane scene and the only time Mr. Bond, James Bond, ever flew on Concorde was in the '79 film "Moonraker". He's shown boarding and a great scene of the Air France Concorde arriving at Rio. It's never explained how he got on the Concorde as he left from Venice. I suppose he shuttled from Venice to CDG. He couldn't fly on British, as it never flew to Rio, except maybe as a charter. The Concorde arrival scene can be found on You Tube.

Lets not forget the movie Bullitt. Better known for the fabulous car chase, the movie ends with a foot chase through/around SFO. The whine of the 707(?) was amazing.

Goodfells did indeed have a scene shot on Rockaway Blvd along the runway stretch.
Here's a still from the movie. This is in front of the shopping center which now has Lowes and (well, before Sandy) K-Mart.

Even Wayne's World has a scene in a spotting area.
