Griswold v Plainfield Thanksgiving Classic

Got the opportunity to shoot my former high school (griswold), play in the tradition that is the Thanksgiving Classic between its age old rival Plainfield this morning. Definitely fun getting to shoot from the sidelines. You get a whole different perspective of the game. My old school ended up winning 41-22. Here are a few shots.

Thanks! I never pushed my ISO over 400 for those shots.

great work Steve - you using a high shutter speed?

Mark, Some of my shots early in the game I had some fluctuating shutter speeds that went as low at 1/250 when I was in Av mode. Then I switched over to Tv mode and set at 1/800.

I found during the flag football season that as much as I could bump up the shutter speed - the better shots I was getting - for night games - that didn't work too well - but daylight - it was great - kind of like this that I was very happy with..

I definitely agree Mark. I haven't attempted to shot any night games yet. I will hold off on that i think until I get a faster lens. Love that shot by the way

great job Steve, that 3rd shot looks almost wide angle- what's the focal length on that? You must've been right there

that was at 100mm, but I was still rather close and has to scramble out of the way as soon as my finger came off the shutter button for that shot so i didn't get knocked over.
