Anyone been over there since the storm? Might be making a trip up and was wondering how it held up.

Joe .... I live not far from the HoBe spotting location. I will provide with an update later today. I am curious as well to see how it faired Sandy's surge.

This should be interesting, but I think Bayswater probably took more damage. I won't go near there to confirm, though.

I took a quick ride past HoBe and overall the parking lot appears fine, but I drive into since the gate was closed (but didn't appear to be locked). I took a photo with the iPhone and sent it to Manny who may post it since at this moment I don't have the capability. I couldn't tell how much erosion there was at HoBe, but off in the distance there appears to a dock or something on a sandbar in the bay.

Thank you Manny! If I get a free moment tomorrow I will try to get better shots. I am still waiting for power to come on. Once that happens I should be able to post some stuff.

If I recall correctly, wasn't that giant metal bin on the far left of the parking lot previously?

Is that the port-a-john? That seems to be missing from it's normal position.

Thanks Manny, looks like I will wait awhile until I head up.

I heard that an entire bar from a restaurant floated from rockaway to near the kings plaza mall.

I was finally able to get fuel today from my employer. They procured a couple of fuel trucks and allocated a top of 10 gallons for support folks and those who needed it most and of course full tanks for nurses and docs and EMTs. Our ambulance corps had reserves in their depot ... My local and nearby gas stations still have not even been able to get a hold of their typical suppliers. One station owner is thinking of switching from their franchise (BP) to another (Lukoil) !!

Update to HoBe spotting location. Unfortunately the gate to the parking lot is locked via a pad lock. Overall the parking lot is fine with some sand in the typical spots. Not too much erosion either. I took some better photos but will post once power comes up, which may be tonight.

Thanks for keeping an eye on this spotting location. I've been hoping to make a visit to this very spot later in the winter season. Hopefully it opens soon so I can come up and bag some of DAT BANK! :D
