As a senior, I no longer have the energy to spot as I used to. Nowadays, I usually spot from the Brooklyn shoreline. JFK finally used the VOR 13L Approach all day on July 21. I saw all the usual inbounds but without binoculars, it appeared that the Qantas B744 livery has changed. It appeared that the tail on the kangaroo was wearing yellow boxing gloves and there appeared to be a small boxing 'roo behind the cockpit. Was I dreaming or has the livery changed? If so, what is the meaning? Spotting always offers something new plus I got to watch the Sand Sculpture contest on the beach to boot!

You were not dreaming. Here she is, as captured by Eric:

It has something to do with the Australian Olympic team, and I have read that this 747 will ferry their team to London for the games.

Thanks for your photo. Are any other aircraft wearing London liveries? I thought British Airways would wear special designs.

The tail # for the Boxing Kangaroo is VH-OJU according to the article.

I think they put some markings (not really well done, IMO) on some A-319s flying in Europe, but nothing that I'm aware of on anything that we would see on this side of The Pond.
