One couldn't ask for better weather conditions to start 2012 off with! Nothing special on 1 Jan as I only snagged five shots that I liked; however, the sunlight made them pop.

They were taken at Houston Hobby.

Why yes it is! Finding that they are quite common down here in Texas displayed like that. DFW has theirs located in the South entrance into the airport and Love has theirs located on stilts in a commercial area north of the field.

The VOR/DME sits on top of the parking garage. There have been meetings to possibly move it; however, in a busy metropolitan area, there isn't much room for it.
