I will be landing in JFK on Thursday, December 1st. I am hoping to do some spotting. What is the best spot for a visitor with nothing but public transport to spot at? Any tips would be great.

In my opinion, the best you can hope for as far as a pleasant experience would be for JFK to be on the 31s so you can just hang out at Panera Bread. Doesn't get better than that! All the other spots, while reachable by public transportation, are quite inconvenient if you don't have a car.
