Historically, Halloween has proven itself a dangerous day to fly, as October 31 airliner crashes have killed a total of nearly 600 people: Singapore Flight 006, Egypt Air Flight 990, TAM Flight 402, American Eagle Flight 4184 and Western Airlines 2605. There have been some happy milestones as well, most notably Ed Sullivan's discovery of The Beatles at Heathrow Airport.
