I had to drive to Hartford after dinner so I decided to take the camera with me and head up to BDL for a bit to try out spotting from the parking garage since I wasn't going to have much sunlight left when I got there. Well, the parking garage was a bust since I could only see ramp action on one side of the terminal and the piano keys on Runway 33. As I was heading down from the top of the garage I looked over towards the FedEx ramp and saw not one but two beauties sitting there.
I drove over to my favorite spot at BDL for afternoon spotting to try and get a few shots but if the fence wasn't in the way a light pole or something else was. Just as I was driving away and about to give up hope, I realized that if I pulled off to the side of the road on the backside of the airport and very quickly stood on my seat with the door open, that I could snap off a few halfway decent shots. Quality isn't the best, but none the less, the highlight of my night.....
