I've been meaning to try it for months, since I stumbled on Ryan's blog. He has some absolutely incredible images done with it.

I'm just curious how you'd go about ensuring sharpness, especially when doing a portrait, as you have to be positive the subject doesn't move!

Here is a good breakdown of how to do keep the subject sharp, Note the girl with the dress was a single shot and then the other shots were all background shots around her

Been doing it for a long time, without the depth of field  I shoot panoramas all the time, but never for this effect. Very cool, thanks for leading me down yet another rabbit hole with an ENTIRE WORLD behind it. Now I have to live to be 150 to enjoy all my hobbies after I retire!

I am truly sorry Manny, I try very hard to find new ways to cheat at photography as I am not very good and need to cheat any way possible. Like the HDR thread I figured this would be yet another new technique threat that we can all grow together. I hope to have some more samples up soon as my lame attempt at my job is not a good example of the possibilities.

So I took my friend down to the beach and tried to do this.

This is 13 images combined.

Eric, that is awesome work! It helps when you have a great subject, but this shot is perfect in that you know where you are, a beach, but all the attention is on her.

Thanks. She is my favorite subject.

Great shot, Eric!

Did you calculate what your "equivalent lens" was? http://brettmaxwellphoto.com/Brenizer-Method-Calculation/

So over my head, but the results are nothing short of stunning...

One of the things I have not touched base on with this method is that Noise is almost irrelevant as with so many megapixels, nose is no longer an issue. Here is a shot I took last night at 6400 iso to test this theory.... there is a full size link below so you can zoom in and see the noise that actually is in the image.

The depth of field is not stunning as I was too far from the aircraft with the 50mm 1.8 and was going to test more the noise than blurring.

Sorry, that size is incorrect that I posted...the size is actually 17748X8629

it was 15 shots total in the image

here is another one...once again, same distance to subject as the other image, just took more pictures

Fred, we had the same subject...coincidence?

Anyhow, this is my first attempt, 15 shots stitched. Came out to 8700px wide before I saved it down.
Not sure I got the full effect here.

Here's my first attempt, a shot done today of my girlfriend and stitched using Photoshop Elements.

Lens used: 100mm f/2.8. Equivalent lens: 30.5mm f/1.0 (according to Brett's calculator: http://brettmaxwellphoto.com/Brenizer-Method-Calculation/ )
