A Miami photographer was allegedly kicked off a US Airways Philadelphia-Miami flight after an angry gate rep told the pilot she was a "security risk" because the woman had taken a photo of the rep's name tag.

Sandy DeWitt told Photography is Not a Crime (http://www.pixiq.com/article/woman-escorted-off-us-airways-flight-for-snapping-iphone-photo) that "Tonialla G." was being rude to several customers so she shot an iPhone photo of her name tag so she could complain to US Airways later.

After DeWitt boarded her flight, Tonialla walked onto the plane and confronted DeWitt, demanding that she delete the photo. DeWitt complied, as the photo was too dark to be legible, anyway. Not satisfied, Tonialla then told the pilots that DeWitt was a security risk. DeWitt was escorted off the plane, and the US Airways airport manager refused to allow DeWitt and her husband board a later US Airways flight to MIA.

No one like strangers taking photos of them at work, and allot think it is a violations of the freedoms. If she wants to complain. Write the name into a iPhone memo, send the couple of second to type it in. You are just adding fuel to the fire taking a photo.

I do have a couple of questions...

According to the article, the woman had already had time to settle into her seat and turn her phone off for the flight.... Why did it take that long for the gate attendant to do something about it? Why didn't she speak up when the photo was taken and say "why are you taking my picture"? Are there details that have been left out of this article by either party?

Should be interesting to see the follow up on this - I just love the "security risk" - where is the "obnoxious risk" for gate agents posted??? :)

I'm actually surprised it was the gate attendant being the "obnoxious one". Seems lately on USAirways its the flight attendants that are the ones with the attitudes.

Steve, spot on. Typical PHL and US Airways customer service.
