anyone have any idea what the hell was going on in Northern brooklyn/ Long island city area. i was driving home from a job to the sounds of FDNY sirens everywhere. not only were a couple ladder/ engine companies involved but haz tac, field comm, rescue and squad companies were involved. it didn't look anything like a drill, especially judging from the way everyone was shooting through traffic.

Google Maps says it's a chemical factory, I guess that explains the big response.

Just spoke with a few buddies who were there. 2 Alarms but not that big of a deal.

There was a deuce and a gas main leak in that general area about the same time. Luckily not that close to each other...

Also remember a lot of the FDNY Apparatus have both electronic and mechanical sirens on the rig so it sounds like there is more running around than there actually is. Squad 288 near me has an old mechanical siren that keeps going for a minute after they are on scene.

One of the ambulances from NY Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan has that. Sounds like multiple responders coming at you.

Gotta Love the Federals!

Not a lot of FDNY units have them anymore. To me, I feel like it's tradition to hear the Federals screaming up the street then winding down as the unit arrives on scene.

I loved the old sirens the black/white/green NYPD RMPs had.

Miller Place just got a new Seagrave with a Rumbler on it.

We had a working fire 2 weeks ago & MA'd them in. I felt it from inside the building when they pulled up. Trippy.
