Had the chance to get up close and personal with a P-47 a few weekends ago. Spent a lot of timing hiding from the sun under it all alone and started looking at the little things. Here are some of those things.

Outstanding! I love these kind of shots, you will only find shots like these from people who really know the aircraft...respect the aircraft...and have one hell of an eye.

nice work Nathan! for the last few times i've been out shooting anything i've done almost exclusively details...300 shots from a car show the other day and not a single shot of a full car...really makes you work it.

Anyone can take a picture of a whole airplane/car/person...takes some effort to make a detail not be boring. I used CS5 and Topaz Adjust to do multiple layers and blend them together. Really helped to bring out the small details and slight contrast/color tone changes across the image. I'm going to be doing a lot more of this in the future.
