It's that time of the year again...one of the few things that can tear me away from an airshow to see. I've had the pleasure of photographing the set up so far - and will continue through the week. I'll pop up a few of the better ones as time allows. Enjoy and please critique!

It is easily one of my favorite events to photograph every year - I skip out on going to a popular annual airshow to cover this instead, that's how much I like it. You should definitely come out some time, it's well worth it!
If you want to see some more, check out my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/-jplphoto/sets/72157626949486634/ I've been updating it every night with five shots from the day.

Good stuff Jeremy. You know, my eye is drawn to the very first image of your set above. I like the overall busy scene, exposure, mood, and the colors. Good job exposing the outside through the window too, without blowing it out.

The parade was this morning - and the first half was rained out. I got a pass to walk in & with the parade, which was awesome, but the rain was thick enough that I hardly switched lenses - leaving most shots looking a lot like the others. But it did clear up a bit and give me a chance to play a little more and feel a lot more comfortable. The nude bikers, typically running around 500 barely surpassed 250ish...and the parade itself plus the crowd was not nearly as well attended as the past two years. But it has a been a blast to shoot either way. The night pics are from the roll-out of the floats from the build area to the staging zone about a mile and a half away. Thoughts appreciated!

This girl asked me to get a few shots of her - and quickly realized that a fisheye gets awfully close. She changed her mind about it quickly, which actually made a better photo in my mind that had she not shied away:

I can not pick out one that I like because they are all about equally as awesome... I can not pick out any weak shots because they are all about equally as awesome. They all give the festive feeling and to say it is a great set does not do it any kind of justice.... Very Well Done!

P.S. the Girl that was shy was much better than seeing her boobies. I would have been much happier with the shot you got. You broke the scale yet again!

I have no idea what the Solstice parade is, never heard of it before, but man you did it justice. That picture of the lady in the red and white striped tights on the bike with the balloons is awesome, I love the angle you created there

P.S. the Girl that was shy was much better than seeing her boobies.I totally agree - way better shot because of it. None of the other biker shots are nearly as good.

I have no idea what the Solstice parade is, never heard of it before,It is an annual parade held in the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle...that celebrates the summer solstice. It contains a lot of very peculiar things and celebrates alternative art and culture. There are also copious amounts of body-painted/nude bicyclists that well...spice up the pre-parade show. It's one of my favorite events of the year...I'd miss pretty much any show I can think of for this without much of a second thought.

Seriously though, thanks guys! The compliments are really quite appreciated...I haven't done such a long lasting gig before, I'm glad I appear to have done a good job. Here's some more of my favorites:

A few of the roll-out:

Good work Jeremy. I really like the girl on the bike with the red balloons...low to the ground at an angle and effective use of depth of field. Those strobe shots with motion are awesome too. Good job on those. And the overall high contrast post processing works too for this event and the weather you guys had.
