Sorry if this has been posted before, but I just noticed it for the first time:

Some people might not like the orange/red scheme, but I think it looks great. These are two beautiful planes.

I do not think I have seen a bad paint scheme on the 747.

That is a nice pic. I agree Jeremy. I do very much like the Boeing house c/s but in that orange? Not so much. It's a beauty in blue I say!

The orange is def a change up from the norm which is nice I like it.

I love the colors - sort of dull and difficult on the cloudy days but man does it pop in the sun!

man does it pop in the sun!

Agreed! And to add on, photos do not do it justice. Looks much, much better in person, thus I am definitely a fan of this scheme!

It's a great shot especially the sun just hitting the 8i's tail. I just want to see them in service!

I just want to see them in service!

I think that photo is the future of intercontinental commercial aviation.
After all the teething problems and delays, they will both prove to be very successful sellers for Boeing. The 757 was a slow starter also, they just have to enter service and prove their worth. I believe the 747-8I will prove more efficient for Lufthansa and Korean Air than the A380.

That's a great picture. I realize that both aircraft have the "raked wingtips" but I find it interesting that Boeing went in that direction rather than the winglets that are so prominent nowadays.

It's because winglets are bandaids and a host of other reasons I can't talk about. The raked and upswept wingtips are better than winglets in every way.

And yes, the 747-8I is just simply stunning! Note just how much larger than the 787 it is, even if you take into account the perspective difference.
