Well my friend who works for XLaire at ISP just sent me this email and I just got off the phone with him.

Hey Nick - Sorry can't let you or anyone else know when the plane is leaving. It's been too much of a mess in the past with people coming in our lot, climbing fences, etc. to snap a pic of him or the a/c.

take it easy man.

Now I know how I am viewed here because of how seriously I take security and spotting locations and to be honest I could care less because the facts usually support what I say like the cargo area at JFK and now we have lost a nice hook at ISP thanks to stupidity and complete inconsideration of people who feel it's their God given right to get shots of aircraft at any cost. I love rare birds too and you know what every once in a blue I may do it but to do it over and over and not use one's head will continue to result in crap like this. Personally I am done providing info on aircraft that are blocked on trackers which sucks because I have first hand knowledge of all the Sands movements but I am not going to deal with this total disreagard for the big picture. People's jobs are at stake and it's plainfully obvious people can't think about others when it's about them and rare aircraft.

I will end on this note... Private property means just that. Whether or not it's a 707. Also people block their movements on the trackers for a reason.

Now I am going to dispense with the who it was or who it wasn't but the damage has been done and I wrote this hopefully so we can avoid this scenario in the future.

OK, first, you make yourself the bastion of security but you post on the internet an email with a name as well as what company the person is from. What the....??

Second, while I agree with you regarding security and consideration, I highly doubt one of us on this forum is climbing fences or the like.

Finally, I dont know who you gave your info to but....if you are discreet with who you gave the info to, then its your fault and no one else to blame. If you can't trust who you give the info to, keep it to yourself. its the only safe thing.

I'm on your side with this but you have to help the cause as well.

#1 You are right about the name Mario I removed it.

#2. I am not going to enter into a debate about who it was but I am a betting man and if I had to bet I would bet it was someone on this site. Sorry but it is what it is.

Finally youtotally are not understanding what happened. It wasn't me giving out the info last time. People knew it was already here and just took it upon themselves to go get the best static pic they could by entering XL property and doing whatever they had to so to get a good shot and don't worry I am done giving out info. The people that give me the Sands info are so delicate I didn't tell the spotters I drive up from SD with till 45 minutes out and didn't call Josh either. I am not taking any chances. These people are world famous and don't want their movements or their aircraft's movements on forums online.

Right, because only people on this site knew about it. Nobody driving past it would have noticed, even though you have an unobstructed view from the street. And it couldn't have been the thread on the A.net forum, that attracted nearly 1,000 views...no, it HAD to be someone here.

True John I may be out of line but it's just my opinion is all. I don't know how many anetters are local NYers that have no contact with this site but point taken.

Also keep in mind that the email specifically said that it was people also trying to get a pic of him. I'd put money down that the ones doing the extremely stupid stuff are non-aviation people that are just trying to get a photo of HIM as opposed to the plane. Seem to be forgetting this is a VIP involved.

I can't imagine anyone from this site actually climbing a fence these days. That's a bit ridiculous.

You mean anyone other than Moose. I can see him scaling fences like a perp running from the po-po & still getting the shot!

I am glad I facilitated not only your shock but your imported smileys.

He didn't mean actually going over the fence, as in most cases using a step ladder to get a shot over the fence of the a/c or him. Though you refuse to believe anyone from this site can do anything wrong.

Peopel HAVE done things wrong, but have never seen anyone scaling fences. Also, I most NYC folks don't employ ladders like other parts of the country do.

Again, the concern was probably more toward celebrity-enthusiasts versus spotters. Just my idea.

From some of the stories you've told, I believe it...

Well at least I had the sense to do it at a place and not as frequent as to lose a resource or spotting location.
