My daughter had a play date up in Harrison with one of her friends and of course I volunteered (Harrison is right next to White Plains Airport )

While it is hard to snag anything from the side of the terminal (and in the afternoon the sun is in yer face) I at least took a shot of the gorgeous gate guard T33 (love that plane)

While snapping the Lockheed, a Hawker Siddeley 125 took off. I ran to the car for the 400mm but it was already too far downrange.

HPN seems to be getting tougher and tougher to spot at. I ventured to the new parking upper level and it is completely blocked sans a few holes. The observation deck os now covered with thick metal guards with very small square holes big enough for a point and shoot lens only :frown:

Thanks guys...

While I was wrapping up (took me at most 45 seconds to get a few shots) a Westchester County RMP rolled up behind me and flicked me the cherries ... never got out or said anything, just wanted me to move along.

Digging this back up, since there's already a thread on the board - the T-33 has been removed recently. Two weeks ago, there were a couple of guys up on a cherry picker looking at it. This past weekend, the airplane was off the pylon and there were pieces of it at the County maintenance yard just north of the cell phone lot/CAP hut/WCPD station. The wings were loaded on a trailer (from a company in Tarrytown), and the tail/rear fuselage were on a bed of tires next to it. The rest of the aircraft wasn't seen. The paint looked to be in great shape (much better than most outside-preserved airplanes), and the pieces looked like they were being handled rather than dumped, so hopefully it's just in for some TLC/cleaning and not a move or (eek!) a scrapping.
