Picture quality = 90% lens and 10% body. Save up for a good lens.

Before I got my 5D MKII I was shooting with the T2i's older brother the XTi. The XT1 had fewer MPs but the quality was fairly decent, even with kit lenses. Probably would have been even better with some good glass in front of it. If you're not looking to spend ALOT of money, its a good choice.

Yeah, another Canon shooter!

My coworker has the T1 and likes it. POTN is a great resource for Canon shooters. The newer 18-55mm kit lens is actually pretty good and I have heard the 55-250 is decent also. Yes L lens are better, but for some one starting out you probably do not want to drop a ton of money. Enjoy the new body and post up pictures!

If I was you I would wait because the T3i is coming out next month and it is basically a T2i with a wireless transmitter and a swivel LCD.If you don't want/need any of those features you can probably get a T2i onsale.
