Hey guys, NICE to see a "crowd" at Panera... :-) brings back memories of summer! Can;t wait. Yeah John, I did take more shots but today, for some reason that escapes me, I took only one set of images of one plane at Panera. .. I have NEVER done that. I did take more pics, I assure you LOL.

LH A380 will be a day to remember for me as it will be the first time for a "first" for me... meaning it will be a first for all who are there. So far the only first for me has been the radar dome on the AA One World 777 lol...

Mark, the light in that shot is magic. The deep blues of the sky, the tonality of the aircraft. Love how you captured more gangway than plane, just pure magic that shot. Keep em going (not coming) :tongue:

Brandon, come on over to HoBe. Can't promise you the Cargos will help you but the foreign heavies always deliver exciting takeoffs with usually nice banks. Why, do they only fly straight lines up by you? :cool:

Interesting note, that Swiss 330 made one of the smoothest landings I have ever seen of any jet... It did not even generate smoke it was soo smooth... The aft bogies touched down very gently and spun up than just hung there for about 2 seconds and than he slowly let the second set down with the same result.

Fell asleep last night while editing them LOL ... when I got home, LATE after sitting in the north parking lot of JFK (it's called the Van Wyck) for about 35 minutes, and another half hour on the GCP, I finally made it home about an hour and a half after I left the airport looking for that Song Bird. Oh well.

Nice meeting everybody (Nick, Chris, Kaz) and seeing the other guys (Mark, John, and ALMOST seeing Manny again! Wendy's is SLOOOOOW!)

That 737-200 was an awesome surprise, as was US Piedmont scheme and the new LX 330-300 (my favorite plane in my favorite livery!)

I'll put some shots up tonight. Looks like the light came back in full-force at HoBe later on in the day! Most of my shots (especially those from Woodmere park) are killed by that weird haze that seems to show up when you upload your pictures to your computer (haha!). They all looked great on my camera's LCD, but I guess that's always a problem.

It's hard not to post what others have already put up, however this was my first time shooting with the 7D, and I must say I am pleased. VERY little work done in post, mostly cropping and sharpening...as for noise, maybe if you pixel peep, but throw 10NR in Lightroom and it's barely noticeable.

We don't have the airspace restrictions that are part of the NYC airspace. Normally the first bank after departure is after about 10 miles, depending on flow and where the plane is going. Once a year, for 4 days there is a good bank on short final/right after departure from Seatac due to the Blue Angels performing in the area. Unfortunately with only 4 days to practice we do not get much chance up here. :redface:

John, that 7D is probably TOO sharp lol. Looks like you get tons of detail to work with in cropping!

Tad, 10 miles? oh my goodness... only time we would see that is 22R departures or maybe 13R/L departures... those are typically RWY heading. 4L and 31L are usually hard left or right turns. 4L has had a 1.5DME hard right 100 degrees for the past few weeks I have paid attention to it. It could be good or bad. Evergree, Asiana, Lufthansa and most cargo, and most small CRJs like American Eagle, are gone way before they even clear the perimeter. Only the pax heavies deliver nice long turns past our "official" spot at The Mounds. Regardless, any other spot for 4L departures sucks... it is all residential and/or full of wires, trees, etc. etc.

Yeah. I went to Wendy's, came back, and they said you'd stopped by and then gone to Wendy's yourself. And while you were in there for 40 minutes, the light got bad. I didn't expect it to pick up again so I called it a day (which apparently was a dumb idea based on some of the shots I've seen...).

To my very un-trained eye, these pics look pretty nice. Nothing a little post processing in photshop can't fix. These shots are a 1,000% improvement over your earlier work. Just keep getting out there and shoot..its the only way to go! Thanks for sharing!
