Most likely gonna be heading up to the New England Air Museum this morning and then I'll squeeze in a little spotting afterward. I know it will be nothing but 737's and CRJ's, but I figure that'll be I'll be sure to post my shots.

Well, I managed to make it up to BDL today. I didn't have a lot of time for spotting while up there. I had my girlfriend's son with me and the only time I had for spotting was sat lunch. So we grabbed lunch at the McDonald's drive-thru and parked the truck in the front parking lot which was right next the the approach for Runway 33 which just happened to be the runway in use today. That was probably the only good part of the potting today. Like I said I didn't have much time and it seemed as though I managed to get there right as the traffic was slow (had I been able to stay longer I would have been able to catch about or 7 more flights arriving). Also, where we were parked made the lighting kinda bad as everything was back lit. Side on shots were completely impossible to get. I should have grabbed lunch and headed to the Bradley Bowl parking lot so I would have been getting my shots from the left side and been able to get more usable shots.

Anyway, I only had two salvageable shots from the afternoon. Nothing special, just two AA 737's. As this is the first time I'm posting images on here, any comments are more than welcome.

Hey TSGSpotter! I finally got some shots today that I thought are worthy of being posted and go figure I can't get them to show up in the thread.

I used the method of posting them that you recommended. It worked!!

Thanks for the compliments on the photos. Still not entirely happy with them as the lighting wasn't great (the whole back lit thing) and I was shooting out of the window of my truck so my range of motion for panning wasn't very much. Hopefully I'll get some better shots this weekend at PHL and BNA.

no problem:cool: I go spotting most weekends...my favorite are the Delta MD-88s.

I'll have to meet up with you one weekend up there. Saturdays are usually best for me.

There was one Delta MD-88 sitting on the ramp today up there. I think it was the one for the cancelled flight to ATL. I couldn't get a good look at it, but it appeared there was a Delta 767 sitting next to it. Most of it was blocked by a cargo building, and it looked to wide to be a 757. I thought that was strange as I hadn't seen any listings for a Delta wide body on Flightstats.com at all.

most likely the 767 you saw was diverted from another airport. Bradley gets that kind of traffic alot, one time a Virgin Atlantic A340-600 landed there after departing JFK.

I've heard that. I am definitely looking forward to the summer when the severe weather starts and head up to Bradley whenever the heavy storms rip through JFK to hopefully catch some heavies being diverted. Any tips on how to get a good heads up on diversions other than listening to ATC?

Not really you just have to be there at the right time...if you have a meens of connecting to the internet you can try flightaware.com and use the airport function.

Yeah, I figured thats the best means of doing that. I wish I lived closer to Bradley, but am about an hour away without traffic. I think maybe a couple of times I'll just head up there when I know there is going to be a bad storm in NYC.

Do they show diversions on flightaware.com? I have the app on my iPhone for that and also the LiveATC.net app that I was using yesterday while spotting at Bradley.
