Caught this guy in the backyard today. I'm not a bird expert, but I think it's a hawk. Don't mess with this guy!

Red Tailed Hawk. Lots of them around LI lately. There is a pair on my block in Deer Park. I saw both of them today out the kitchen window perched at the top of a tree down the block. They looked huge!

I love to see them soar and if lucky get to hear their cries. Almost like an eagle and you almost think your out in the mountains somewhere.

Awesome shot! I love the blood red eyes. I don't think its a red tailed hawk though, I snapped a few pics of one yesterday and looks quite a bit different
