Hey guys! Got out for a little Christmas Eve spotting here in MSP. I hoped to get the "Christmas Specials"; Evergreen, Kallita and Capital, but some major snow intervened. Weather has been cruel to me this month:frown:

This is the best I could do;

I shot RAW and adjusted contrast, saturation, noise reduction and haze reduction. Any tips on cleaning up this quality of image?

Try this one... all of it done with levels... a SLIGHT saturation boost to compete with the dullness of the light.

Also, remember to always overexpose a bit (1/3rd or so) in whiteout conditions. On my Nikons a +2 stop EV comp is usually needed, even with Matrix Metering. Snow is tough to compete with automatically.

I'll give it a go tonight but I keep wanting to get to MSP right now. I love those conditions for shooting but the flight loads have been cruel to me trying to get over there.

Where did you take those pictures from? I go up there 2 or 3 times a year and I don't recognize the building in the background.

Here is my spin on the image. I adjusted the levels in photoshop and then adjusted the contrast.

Drop me a line if you are coming to town, I will show you around.

Doug, these are taken from the the 6th floor of the Gold Ramp. The building in the background it is the Signature Charter terminal. It looks different due to the lack of equipment on the pad and the snow. Drop me a line if you are coming to town and I will show you around.

Not a problem, it is one of my favorite airports to spot at, I love the setup of the parking garage there and the police are very friendly the few times that they came up to visit me back in September.
