According to the story on Newsday.com, the airplane came down near on Carmens Road near Conklin Avenue. Carmens Road is the first street west of Rt. 110 off Conklin. From the photo, it looks like it came down on a street in the residential area.

Just looking at the photos the car behind the plane and the wires it looks like it just dropped straight down.

Cabin looks pretty intact and Newsday reporting Tower received no distress call from the aircraft.
And help must have been on scene quickly with the East Farmingdale FD just north of the crash site.

It is amazing that it looks structurally sound, so it could not have been a huge impact... and the fact that only one fatality out of four is a miracle. It is likely all passengers experienced the same G-Forces yet only one suffered fatal levels. I sure hope the survivors recover fully.

The one fatality was 75 years old and no reason for his death is given.

Hey all. Been a busy seek so far but I thought you might want to hear an update:

One for the passengers on the plane was Charles Bianculli, my chiropractor since I was in high school. If I recall correctly he either went to the Air Force Academy or was in the Air Force many moons prior to becoming a doctor. He was one of my role models growing up. Sometimes he comes off as a grouch, a real curmudgeon, but he's a big bear, good people.

Of course, life came full circle when he came to my office one day. It is an ultimate honor to come to be your doctor's doctor. Over the last few years, he got into flying and co-owned an airplane with an older gentleman (I'm not clear as to whether this was their plane. It doesnt appear to be.) he'd invited me up a few times but we never synched up.

We got a call this morning. He is finally conscious and responding now at Stony Brook. If he survives, its a long road to recovery, many months in ICU.

Please keep them all in our thoughts.
