Nothing too special today except for A British Oneworld 747 and lots of Bizjets. I couldn't stay for the Kuwaiti 747, had to be in DC by 5:30, but you all had probably already seen it.

Very nice! Mind if I ask where you took these? I'll be in the DC area later this month. Still trying to figure out the best spots, etc.

For spotting at IAD check out this link: http://www.washbaltspotters.net/files/iadspots.pdf

It all depends which approach they use, but I spotted at loaction 1 - Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Air Museum, it's worth paying the $15 to park. Get there early to check out the air museum and then relocate yourself in the parking lot for some afternoon spotting.

Mark pretty much summed it up, but I'll add to it a little. If your using public transportation, you can take a bus to the UHC from the main terminal and save yourself $15. Also, if winds are from the south, you can go to the Purple Lot (Sample pic here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26223409@N08/4934898907/in/set-72157624827549622/), or you can go to Daily Garage 2, which is best for morning. In the afternoon, your pictures will be backlit but salvageable (pic here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26223409@N08/4810262344/in/set-72157624414339577/). Good Luck!

Great, thanks for all of the info. I should point out that a user on airliners.net says

"Just an FYI, the photo location at Udvar-Hazy Museum parking lot for IAD is not good at the moment as runway 1R/19L is shut down till Oct. 11th for replacement of runway centerline lights.

This isn't applicable to me since I will be there afterwards but thought I'd share in the event that others are planning to spot that site between now and the 11th.
