The U.S. Department of Transportation on Wednesday gave final approval to Hawaiian Airlines’ application to offer nonstop daily service between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and Honolulu International Airport.

Ah you forgot to mention that Delta and American also were awarded Haneda service...and more importanly AA will be serving Haneda from JFK. ;)

That's pretty big for HA seeing as how a large majority of the local population are either Japanese (or of origin) and a significant amount of Hawaiian tourists come from Japan. They should do really well with this route...

DL and AA won the authority but I don't think they have announced a schedule yet.
