Australian pilot Matt Hall flirted with disaster on Saturday when his aircraft skipped off the surface of the Detroit River during a qualifying run for the Red Bull Air Races. While making a turn on the course, the aircraft stalled and lost altitude. Hall recovered, but hit the river, smacking the water with both wingtips. Hall was able to land safely at the race airport in Windsor. The aircraft suffered some minor damage, and Hall hopes to be ready for New York.

He knew he wasn't going to win, so he thought he'd show-off a bit. ;)

Glad to know it had a positive ending.

Glad to know it had a positive ending.

No kidding! That could've gone badly.
