View Full Version : US Airways launching nonstop Charlotte, NC to Rome

PHOENIX -- US Airways said Thursday it's launching daily nonstop service from its hub in Charlotte, N.C. to Rome.

The flight will leave Charlotte each evening at 6:15 p.m. and arrive at 9:30 a.m. the next day. The flight from Rome will leave at 11:05 a.m. and arrive in Charlotte at 3:55 p.m.


US Airways already flies a daily nonstop service to Rome from Philadelphia, the airline's international gateway.

Charlotte, N.C. is the airline's largest hub. US Airways is based in Phoenix.

Any word on the fleet type? I would imagine the 330-200 or the 767-200ER. The 330-300 wouldnt have the legs for that tripand if it did it would be on a highly weight restricted basis. The 300 is a bit short legged and the engines US took on the 300 fleet are a derated version.

It is the Airbus A330-300

Booked 29/29 in F and 251/259 in Y for tonight so far.

Rome isn't that far, shouldn't be a problem for the -300.
