Director Michael Moore says, via Twitter, that his flight rejected takeoff at LGA around 6pm.

@MMFlint Minutes ago Delta flight I'm on at LGA going 200 mph down runway, pilot aborts, slams on breaks seconds be4 liftoff & end of runway (& bay)

Taking an educated guess via Flightaware and Delta.com, it may have been DL 2121 to DTW, an A320.

Anyone know anything?

Rejected takeoffs happen a lot more often than you think. Most of them go uneventful and unreported.

I highly doubt the plane was doing 200mph since planes take off at a much slower speed then that. What would be more interesting news is if the plane took off...depressurized and he was the only one to get sucked out.

Talk about sensationalism on his part....

I agree with N221UA, these are almost daily occurrence's at LGA alone. I am off today so nothing to witness. Maybe because of Mr. Moore's weight the Captain thought they where to heavy to become airborne ! Oh and you would think someone of his fame could at least spell brakes (he said breaks) !

Cheers

I know. But just because they usually go unreported by the mainstream media doesn't mean they SHOULD go unreported. Often interesting stuff for us geeks in these events. :-)

The flight rejected takeoff?

Pilot
"OK be have clearance, let's roll".
Airplane
"Sorry Dave, I can't let you do that"

And then Walt Clyde Frazier pops into the cockpit and says "REEjected."

I heard they ran out of Biscoff cookies and with Michael Moore on-board decided to declare an immediate emergency!

They didn't have enough seat belt extenders.

PA, FAA and DL all deny an aborted takeoff. Guess it was just a 120mph test of the brakes before takeoff.

The claim is DL Flight #2231 to DTW returned to gate due to mechanical problems. Crew timed out and plane was swapped. Flight still delayed.

You better send a team in to tame Mooore...the fat bastard may get out of hand.

It did abort takeoff upon initial roll at less than 30knots then returned to the gate. I guess Moore thinks 30knots = 200mph/
