I want to pass this along, as some folks here expressed an interest in this in the past.
The Long Island Scale Model Society (of which I am an officer) is proud to be hosting the 2010 edition of the IPMS/USA Northeast Region Convention, NorEastCon 2010. This model show and contest will be held on Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1. We are honored to announce that NorEastCon 2010 will be held at the American Airpower Museum at FRG.
NorEastCon 2010 will feature a model contest with nearly 70 categories spanning everything from aircraft to autos, military vehicles, ships and figures. Visitors can browse our large vendor area, learn new techniques at seminars by master model builders, or sit in on presentations by WWII veterans, including P-47 JABO pilot George Sutcliffe, featured in a History Channel "Dogfights" episode. One price admission includes both days of the show, as well as admission to the museum and all of its aircraft and displays. With the forecast for good weather, we may even see some of the museum's aircraft in action.
Doors are open Friday from 10am to 9pm and Saturday from 9am to 5pm. For more information about the show, visit our NorEastCon 2010 (http://www.lisms.org/noreastcon2010.html) web site.
Look for me at the photo table (or just running around with a camera...) Here are a few shots from our show in 2009:
